If a topic has already been discussed on this forum, am I forbidden from discussing it again? I am not talking about creating a duplicate of an existing front page thread either. I looked in every forum section for the first five pages and found nothing close to the topic I wanted to discuss so I created a thread. No forum rules were broken in the thread yet it was locked for no apparent reason. Can I have some clarification on what I am allowed to discuss on these forums without having threads randomly locked?
Thread locking seems to be random in a lot of situations. Maybe a mod just decided they didn’t like the topic at hand…
it’s usually because 1 or 2 people start a flame war or troll too hard so the thread just gets locked.
Someone either goes onto your thread and starts an argument which will continue throughout the thread and it will get locked. This has happened in major threads as well. Yo! has seen some dark times. And people are always trying to start a flame war on the Sangheili thread in the Halo 4 forums, and I mean they do it daily.

There was no flame war or trolling. Purely discussion.
Here is an excerpt from the reply I got as to why it was locked:
“there is a multiple page thread on said topic, yet another one is not needed. You are welcome to search through the General Discussion section pages until you find it however I have other things to attend to.”
Like I said, I looked through the first five pages of every section but just couldn’t stand the abysmal load times so I gave up and created one.
What I don’t understand is:
If I am going to have a thread locked because another one exists couldn’t they at least link me to it instead of saying “I have other things to attend to”?
I just started posting here. I haven’t broken any rules and I’m getting threads locked for no reason. Maybe this isn’t the forum for me.
