Thousands of you have been enjoying SWAT...

“…this week’s headshot-happy rotational hopper. So many, in fact, that we have decided to leave that playlist in for another week.”

What you don’t see it? Here let me rewind it for you.

“…this week’s headshot-happy rotational hopper.”

Still not 100%? Don’t worry, I’ll clarify soon enough.

“…this week’s… hopper…”

Oh so you did see it? Well What’s the big deal some of you may be asking? Well let’s continue.

“…So many, in fact, that we have decided to leave that playlist in for another week”
“…leave that playlist in for another week”
“…for another week”
“…for another week”
“…for another week”

“…this week’s… hopper… for another week.”

WTF WHY ONLY ANOTHER WEEK?!!

Sorry ppl if you feel patronized, that was 90% for 343 and 10% for personal comedic effect to sooth my nerves…

Now I know I know many of you have alot more on your plate of worries for Halo 4… But why on Earth is 343 deciding to give us this simple slate of game-types, and adding in the other needed ones TEMPORARILY?
Is this to bring back that Double XP Weekend feeling from Halo 3? Lemme tell you somethin 343 it’s NOT. Maybe for silly or odd gametypes like Hockey or Fiesta Slayer- but not what’s been around since Halo 2 or prior.

Dose anybody else see the logic in this? I mean besides the strong possibility 343 really hasn’t had time to finish the game and is treating this first month or twelve as an open beta…

I’m just sayin 343, don’t pull on our heart-strings and plop our favorite gametypes like SWAT, Snipers and VIP (oooohh I said it) into our laps for a few days just to snatch them away again before we’ve even gotten their numbers… Oh wait… I mean… Shet…

you guys get what I mean right? I mean I can forgive 343 if they would at least tell us all these “temp” playlists will eventually become permanent in MM soon, but jeeze…

Source btw for those of you in a panic: http://blogs.halowaypoint.com/Headlines/post/2012/11/14/The-Halo-Bulletin-111412-.aspx

Swat in Halo 2/3 was fun. Swat in 4 sucks. I couldn’t care less if it got removed.

I love that SWAT was the first new Playlist to make a comeback. It needs to be PERMANENT with some minor tweakage. Needs more maps too! Maybe Relay?

Halo 2 SWAT was the BEST IMO! That’s why I’m really enjoying H4 SWAT. The BR is just so Brutal in close quarters.

Why couldn’t you care less D0ntReviveMeBro?

Dose the BR slap the DMR around too much for you taste or what? Cause I can see how that’s a problem…

It’s dominated by the BR (which it should be) But since I like aiming, I use the DMR.

I just think they need to fix the spawns on them. Too many times have I spawned in front of 4 people to get instadeath.

Source? Or -Yoink-.

Really gonna be pissed if they remove SWAT.

hahahah not at all. I use the DMR by choice, whether it gets outclassed by the BR or not. I just prefer semi automatic weapons over burst.

Like I said in my post before this, I just think the spawns need fixing. If they don’t do that, then I have no interest in playing SWAT anymore.

> Swat in Halo 2/3 was fun. Swat in 4 sucks. I couldn’t care less if it got removed.

Yes H2/H3 swat was awesome because there was no DMR. This just ruins the gametype because it can be used in all situations. While the BR has a limit to its use, even there the DMR can still outgun it.

I expect there to be changes to SWAT this week if it’s going to be sticking around… I use the BR on maps like Haven, Solace and Adrift. I bust out the DMR on Complex and Abandon.

this is ZombieFrogHorde approved.

I thought that’s how it’s supposed to work…?

Also, not that I super care either way since in my book SWAT is SWAT- but I like how most ppl were pro-BR because of it’s ‘skill factor’ and yet everyone is complaining about the much more skilled DMR… I mean even D0ntReviveMeBro humorously pointed out how the DMR requires much more “aiming” than the BR.

I mean I played SWAT and when I first popped the game in (after Campaign) I started up some custom SWAT and found the BR to be stupidly easy to use compared to the DMR.

Again I don’t super care either way, but I feel that w/ the BR and DMRs set-up SWAT is better off w/ the two. Now we can play bigger (aka more) maps and make use of the DMR and switch to the BR on small maps. Can the DMR beat the BR close up? Sure, if you are good enough, something halo has long been credited for promoting.

All of this.

Hearing all of the BRs going off is almost like hearing all of the noob tubes going off in COD LOL.

It’s a good gun no doubt. But I wish I didn’t see as much spray and pray with it as there is currently.

In case you haven’t heard, 343 is doing weekly playlist updates. They’ll be adding and removing playlists on a weekly basis to keep things fresh.

That is why SWAT will only be in for another week. They’ve already said that in the future, they’ll possibly take the most popular playlists from the weekly changes and make them permanent, possibly even replacing unpopular current playlists.

I have a feeling SWAT will become permanent once they implement the CSR stuff, same goes for others like Grifball and Team Snipers and such.

Definitely glad it’s sticking around for another week though!

The DMR works best on the slightly bigger maps. and the BR on the smaller ones. Complex is good for a mix of DMR and BR. 2 guys on high ground with the DMR ranging, and BR’s on the bottom sweeping the floors and halls. Of course this is if you’re playing with a group of friends/competent players. I’m really not 100% used to the maps yet so they aren’t entirely second nature for me yet so whenever I get a map that isn’t Solace or Haven I get messed up quite a bit, and find it more comfortable to DMR camp on complex, than to BR it.

I enjoy the Halo 4 swat, And I personally agree with OP (without the extreme emotion involved) that Swat should have been a permanent implementation. Although I personally think having pre-set playlists take away from the slightly randomized feel o Halo’s Multiplayer (effectively giving the FEEL of a lack of variety, when that isn’t actually the case it’s just variety isn’t shoved down our throats)
