Bots: These things would have fooled me initially if I didn’t know they were bots. They seem to act just like certain new teams I’ve seen in MCC. They do have some wonky behavior like being seemingly attracted to nades, or not being able to see through drop shields…but all in all, not bad for beginner bots who act like some players.
Speaking of nades, frag grenades… they seem a little cartoony? I don’t feel the grit of the explosion like I did with the other Halos, plasma and spike though are nice, I like this spike nade more than H3’s.
Movement: Is realllllllly good, I feel like I’m fast enough to dodge without the H5 booster. I’m glad you yeeted those in favor of a more grounded feel.
Weapons: They all feel and act nice in my opinion, everything is OP(good balance in Halo) in a way except the Ravager. I really feel like that gun is lack luster in the academy… the damage is too low and the burst feels weird when you are locked into firing it. Maybe a damage buff is needed? Maybe an increase in AOE size to make it a good support weapon? IDK, but I don’t desire to use this weapon.
I like the one map we have, it has a good flow.
Deployable shields: Seem a little slow to activate compared to the ol bubble. I like the concept but for a shield that isn’t indestructible, it should deploy quickly at least.
Everything else seems great outside of the server hiccups, but that’s understandable lol
Let me know if I missed something you have seen issues with.
Good notices! Besides bad performance (which will get better with time and could also be my 2k monitor upscaling when my graphics card isnt strong enough 1060) I think the game is coming together. You can definitely tell that this is a new engine and yet it still feels very halo like.
My general thoughts and acknowledgments so far.
The water has nice effects a step up from halo5 yet not as good as halo 3
Looking down at your feet looks hilarious.
Grenade spamming causes weird animation glitches. In fact, there are quite a few weird animation bugs.
UNSC grenade is really slow it falls very slow kinda like a balloon with helium.
Love how easy it was to switch controls
Bots are funny yet pretty smart.
Love being able to swap the outline colors, but it would be nice to have a color wheel or more colors maybe even line thickness.
Default AI voice is so Destiny sounding first thing I did was swap out that guy I hate that kind of commentary.
Map is pretty and reflections look good.
Heatwave gun is bad, maybe im not using it right. Sometimes it kills training bots in 2 hits sometimes it doesnt. Cool that you can swap modes.
The game is still very rough but at least its fun. I expect it to slowly get better kind of like MCC. I dont know how they are going to fit the rest of the game in just a few months when you have really silly and strange glitches. The polish is still needed a lot of shoe shine polish. The game would not have been playable last year for sure.
Anyway im very optimistic, and the game is coming together! Looking forward to seeing it improve!
I will have more feedback tonight. Im gonna update some drivers and do some technical tricks to try to get better fps. I really think its just the game doesnt change the resolution to 1920x1080 and it keeps it at the 2k monitor size.
I can’t access it, I got to the menu but it says “your account is not authorised to play halo infinite” even though I legit got invited and managed to download it
The movement seems really fluid and fast, as it should for Halo.
The weapons seem balanced, with them basically being based on personal preference but I don’t think there’s enough information so far to judge what’s better than X.

Tried a shutdown of console/pc and restart of router?

I agree with the movement. It feels much better than the boosted H5. Overall, the gameplay has been a lot of fun and it feels good to be back in a Halo match even if it is against bots. Still a little rough around the edges, but this flight is making me excited to see the more polished version at launch!

> the skewer you mean
Yes, I meant the Skewer. The Ravager seemed to be as balanced as the Pulse Carbine and Heat Wave.
