Ok, I wanna keep this short and sweet. I know Halo 4 has some problems. I see we as the community are quick to point them out. 343i does frustrate me with some of their ideas and especially with the no in game rank system.
But here is a brilliant concept: Along with the exp progression system SR130, we make a “Rating” and “Ranking” feature to match players evenly and get ranks to appease competitive players. Your “Rating” is determined by your K/D/A, and your “Ranking” is determined by your Win/Loss record. In “Ranked” playlists you get matched based on your initial “Rank” i.e. if you are a 34, you are paired against other 34s initially, and filled in with levels around that if need be, and then finer tuning your oppenents based off your “Rating.” So therefore you get the most evenly and balanced players in your skill level. Everytime you win, your “Ranking”, a visible number on your profile will increase, putting you into a new group of players to be matched against while your “Rating” is visible on the global leaderboards and on your service record card in a section designated for it.
I thought this idea up while playing CoD and checking their leaderboards and thought, those guys can’t be playing dudes on their level every game, then I remembered Arena from Reach, and like, let’s combine these two features. The only problem I see is boosting, but when isn’t that a problem lol. But if you checked a person who boosted and saw his rating was garbage and his ranking was high it be stupid, so maybe like a fix for this is you could not play with people who’s skill gap is too large from yours like i.e. a 4 playing with a 34 et cetera. But I know this would anger people too. So its hard to make a good compromise.
