Thoughts on warthog sound?

If you haven’t driven the warthog, go into training mode and launch Behemoth.

I find it sounds like a flashy car from 2020, not like a military vehicle from 2558+.

Its not bad, it just feels wrong

Honestly it’s the best sounding warthog in the whole of Halo for me.
Has a deep rumble to it, I like it. I wouldn’t really compare it to a sports car to be honest. More of a Jeep/Truck sound.

I really want the halo 4 warthog sound it was a loud v8

The sound is a bit weak, I suppose. It sounds a little…soft for a rugged all terrain vehicle that has served the UNSC well for who knows how long! But I think the real issue is that it doesn’t really sound like the Warthog. In my opinion, the Warthog has always had a really distinct sound throughout the games, and they should keep that sound, the one that remained largely the same from Halo CE all the way through to Reach. Again, that’s just my opinion.

While we’re on the subject of the Warthog’s sounds, I personally find the turret’s sound to be underwhelming as a machine gun turret. However, I do think it would make for a pretty good SMG sound!

Im just so used to the original warthog sound that anything else sounds weird. Sounds decent though so it wont bother me that much and they shouldn’t keep everything original.

Pretty much that, I can get on board with anything provided it sounds within reason to how it looks. I wish it sounded different based on the surface, I know we aren’t exactly going to get sand speckles flying up in the air as the wheels spin but would be great to have different sounds depending on surface. Even have the Warthog be a bit slippy on ice for example.

I think it sounds really weak, like a weed whacker. It needs to sound like a true V8 with Borla exhaust, a deep low rumble.

Im not a fan that you can control the warthog while in mid air, you cant emp it with the plasma pistol anymore, the reticle is too small and the turret is way too OP, its too quick. It needs to build up to get to top speed and not be top speed straight away. It feels likes its not connected to the map like it floats around, it doesnt shake or bounce while driving. Lastly im not a fan of this doom mechanic 343 has when a vehicle is going to explode. Its ok for the ghost but not the warthog. Being on fire and smoking should be enough to realise that it might blow up and its up to you to judge, not have a visual guide to hold your hand to let you know how the game works and keep you safe.

I do like the look, its strong and heavy looking with cool details. The sound of the engine is good but the turret needs a lil work. I love how the wheels blow off too. I like how you can jump from the driver seat onto the turret.

I really did wish that vehicles would be stronger like in halo ce and not too weak like halo 4/5. They shouldnt blow up too quickly. 343 should bring back the mechanic from halo ce where you would be killed inside the vehicle and it will then leave the vehicle up for grabs for people to fight over just like power weapons and equipment. It should take a lot to make them explode and not from a couple of bullets. I hated being in the mantis in halo 4, as soon as i got in i would be beamed by bullets and explode straight away. They need to be strong but not OP. I hate when KB/M players can whip vehicles around and kill everyone so quickly and easy i.e. guasshog’s, reach’s banshee, tanks all being used by KB/M was unfair and unbalanced against controllers. I have no idea how vehicles will play out. We’ll get to see next weekend but my guess is that they will be too weak and the vehicle weapons will be too OP

I hate the sound. Sounds like a terrible V6 lol.

Halo 4 sound was definitely best of the sound iterations. This new one is pretty meh
