I’m sick of Eagle Square. It is soooo overplayed. Boulevard 1.010.10.101.10010 (whatever it is lol) is so incredibly underutilized. I feel like they need to expand some game types into certain maps so that they pop more. For example, you can have a slayer game on any map. Boulevard only ever features territories and should include. Guillotine is a similar map in that it is also not really an option for oddball or CTF, yet it only ever has slayer but being an oddly shaped map featured in the middle of a city, you could feature territories. Port authority is also never really used, yet it would be pretty good for territories imo.
The more maps there are with different game types, the less likely anyone is to play a particular map that they dislike.
You should relax a little. Yelling on the internet with all caps and multiple exclamation points because of a video game makes you seem really high-strung. Consider this: maybe they voted for it because it’s a good map? How about they keep it and add more maps like it, instead of removing it because you’re sick of it because everyone likes it? That way, there will be more map variety so you won’t be so sick of Viking, and everyone else will be happy too because they get more maps like the one they like. Personally I think it’s one of the best BTB maps in Halo 5. It doesn’t feel so cramped like some of the other ones.
Sorry mate but Ragnarok / Valhalla is my favorite BTB map, gameplay flows well on this map imo and I’m glad it has stayed…
So the point of your post is…?
The map plays a lot better now with the weapon tuning changes. I like the hectic moments with all the vehicles. It is weighted pretty heavily though. It would be nice to have a little more variety. I don’t see Guillotine nearly enough.
This is one of the few H3 maps i like though.
Yeah, I hate this map too in Halo 5. But I’m not gonna say it should be removed.
It’s straight up and down, it’s unique, and it’s fun at times. It’s got a heavy emphasis on vehicles that few other BTB maps have.
It, like all BTB maps, have its moments, good and bad.
That map is not very good. I’m not a fan of the open areas and the ease to hit people from any area.
While I can almost are the only thing I hate about it in H5 is everytime I play it it’s camp on the flag… I would like it if straight up slayer came up on it more often. It’s remix was very well done for H5 IMO.

I actually think the open areas are one of the main reasons why BTB in general, and Viking in particular, are so popular. If you want cramped maps with short sightlines, they already have 4v4 for that.

Guillotine was a great map for 1 flag and bomb back in H2, but those gametypes aren’t in H5 unfortunately. It probably wouldn’t play well on this map anyway given all the abilities.
For the OP, I don’t like Viking either. The map is too open, but the tuned BR helps a little bit with that now. I also think it’s too snowbally with social matching allowing one team to gain control too easily. It needs another tier one or two vehicle counter. The plasma pistol and rocket pod are basically the only ones with fast respawns and the rocket pod doesn’t lock on which makes it situational and the plasma pistol only emps. The plasma caster isn’t even that great against the Banshee and takes multiple hits for the heavier vehicles. The map could also use one or two more spawn points.

I’ve used the Plasma Caster several times against the Banshee.
Each time, my fully charged shot did almost no damage to it. Don’t think I even scratched the paint job. If they removed the Rocket Pod and replaced it with the Hydra, the map would be so much better. On top of that, adding in some more coverage on the way to and from each base would seriously help with the Sniper at either base getting easy kills, with his 24 rounds of Sniper ammo.

Being more open is one reason I like it. Way to many maps in H5 is cluttered with stuff and caters to cqc.

What else do we need? There’s also the Sniper that spawns right in the base, and the Laser. I agree with you about the snowball effect, but couldn’t you say that about any BTB match against a team who knows what they’re doing?
As it is the only vehicle that has a potential for lasting a good while and running the game is the Gauss Hog, but still there’s the Plasma Pistol that way too many people are still not utilizing to it’s full potential. You say it’s just to EMP, but it is so crucial to help deal with all the vehicles. If anything maybe the vehicles should be on a longer timer.

Viking is one of the few maps with a lot of powerful vehicles so I wouldn’t consider it completely the same as most of the other maps where snowballs happen. We do have a sniper and laser, but they’re on long respawn timers. The sniper does spawn right in the base, but how many times do we spawn in the base? It’s not an easy run to it with enemy vehicle dominance which goes to my point of adding spawns. I would replace the rocket pod with a hydra and maybe change the Hunter cannon to something else. The plasma pistol is good, but only if you can capitalize on the EMP effect.
Ragnarok is the bees knees
!! So glad it’s back in Halo 5. I loved whipping out a light rifle or dmr in Halo 4, perching on a hill with active camo ability (ability recharge as support) and laying waste

No don’t get rid of the hunter claws… While not very effective usually, still way fun to use in btb. I just wish the rocket pod would lock on to the banshee and vehicles like the missle pod used too.

I like the other one more personally. I also wish the rocket pod locked onto things since it would make it a formidable vehicle counter. I mainly just use it as an anti-infantry weapon.
