So what does everyone think of the new armour selections within Halo 3?
Personally I’m loving it and think it actually fits in quite nicely (for the record my current selection is the Hayabusa helmet with the Katana, the new air assault shoulders, the suture forearms and the tanker legs)
I think it actually makes my character look that much more unique, it saddens me a little to know some people won’t see it at all, but to the ones that do, I honestly hope they all think it looks as badass as I do!
Once again a big thank you to 343i for revamping yet another brilliant aspect of Halo and (in my opinion) making it much better than it already was.
Little side note, the great journey skin for the BR looks so slick, can’t wait to bag that!

There are one or two I think are truly horrible (like the one that looks like it should be an audio speaker rather than a helmet), but overall I like them. I’m never going to use them, but I am glad that players have more of a variety now.

You mean Compass or Pioneer?
Not all the designs are perfect, but I’m sure someone will like them, and that’s all that matters in my book

Pioneer! That’s it. I mean, come on, you can’t look at it and not tell me the Spartan isn’t about to drop some phat beats.
some are very bad, while others work really well with halo 3’s style. Right now, I’m loving my new h3/h4 style armor combo (tried to make it look as close to my halo 5 spartan as possible (would look even better with the Prophet-class helmet, but it wasn’t added)).

I’ve given myself a gnarly look for my spartan and honestly it feels complete.

Okay, yes it does, but I’m sure there’s some insane Canon reason for it looking like that
I got eva helmet, tanker body and legs, air assault armor pascal red visor. Looks neat. K find if you mix halo 3 classic armor with the new it works. I hate all the new helmets though…
Made my Spartan into a woman with the EOD chest and (soon to be) Deadeye legs for thick thighs. Mark 6 shoulders for slimness and (also soon to be) Soldier Arms for more slimness. A more creative approach.

I think they are great, I remember in 2007-8 when practically everyone hated how ugly the Scout helmet was, Security and EVA got dunked on for being “stupid” because anyone with a sniper would see you first, The EOD helmet was the source of PEAK complaints about it’s design and players who used it cough cough Brigadiers and that the Rouge helmet could negativity effect enemy player aim was talked about a LOT.
honestly, adding the new armor was the best thing to happen to Halo 3. If this was 2007 again people would be over the moon about this.
I really like the expanded customization. As I said in another post, as a teenager I always wanted to have a full ODST set, but sadly Bungie only gave us the helmet. After the Halo Online armors were spoiled on the customization menu, I messed around and thought that the ODST helmet, EVA shoulders, Recon chestpiece, Warrior arms, Hivemind legs, Onyx VISR and GEN1 techsuit would finally fulfill my dream. After Season 5 dropped I changed my mind and came to the conclusion that (for me personally) the best looking ODST armor set consists of the ODST helmet, EVA shoulders, Soldier chestpiece, Warrior arms, Mark VI legs, Onyx VISR and the GEN1 Techsuit. I’m pretty happy with my spartan armor set. I think it still preserves the legacy feel but the new pieces take the customization to another level. I’m glad 343i added these new sets.
I honestly don’t mind them at all.
I know there was a lot of backlash about them at first and understandably so, people want Halon3 to remain Halo 3. The toggle for that is a great middle ground.
I do think it all fits in game pretty well. Maybe thematically they’re a fair but different, you can tell the difference in design between the two very clearly but in terms of how they look in game it works and I’m super thankful for that.
It’s expanding our options in a classic game and I quite like it. Does give a whole new way of customisation too, changing leg and arm armour in Halo 3 is something I never thought I’d see.
90% of the new stuff is hideous to the point that the toggle is very necessary. I tried turning the skins back on, and I hated the experience.
Once the server browser is finished, I’m quitting matchmaking and just playing customs, so I can mod the trash out entirely.

Not really. 343 is not going to work on this game at all once infinite comes out. They should fix these things before they end support for the game. Skins are cool, but i’d rather the game work properly.
