thoughts on the combo - Yay or Nah

Going to keep it short and sweet.

as of lately I’ve been running into a lot of people completely over doing it with noob combo and its becoming more and more common the higher up I go in the onyx ranking. I know I’m going to hear " its part of the game either deal with it or get better" blah blah blah. But I know I cant be the only one who’s mopping up kids and as soon as they realize they’re losing they resort to noob comb.

it’s getting kind of annoying after a while.

anything thoughts ?

Seems to me that you’d be better off thinking how to counter the noob combo instead of complaining about people using it to beat you.

It’s really not all that good in Halo 5. The charging sound is extremely loud, and can be avoided very easily by thrusting. The only time that it’s exceptionally good is if you catch someone off guard, which you would probably kill them in that instance without the Plasma Pistol anyway.

It’s been part of the game since halo CE blah blah blah. It’s been 17 years with the noob combo blah blah. It’s problably going to be in halo 6 blah.

i had to XD sorry!

lol too funny.

I don’t actually use the noob combo much. By the time you find a target, charge up and release, then switch guns, you’ve been shot up, your shields are down, and it’s a toss up as to who lands the fatal head shot.

Noob combo is cool enough they made a medal for it…nuff said… :slightly_smiling_face:

I’ve been a regular user of it since the game came out. I feel like it gets underutilized in BTB which is surprising to me. It’s good against communicating parties because a lot of times you won’t be able to finish a kill before their teammate shows up and then you end up dying so the PP is a good counter for that to at least get a trade.

I think it’s fine buddy , especially with the enhanced movement it can sometimes be a challenge to use it . If you used it in the halo 3 anniversary playlist it was way overpowered !!! And in my mind one of those things that feel quintessentially halo.

if it’s stupid but it works it ain’t stupid.

Nah I mean it sucks but I just see it as a regular tactic (it was worse in halo 2) to me someone using the noob combo is the same as someone picking a storm rifle or smg off the map.

Cant say I’ve ever seen it work all that much for more than one or two kills.

I mostly get caught off guard but sometimes I feel like no matter what I do I still get hit.

I would say, “Yay, to having a comb.” I need to do something with my Spartan’s hair when the helmet comes off.

Perhaps their hair might look absolutely FABULOUS? :joy:

ooppss lol

I was using that technique before it became aptly named that. I just consider it strategy. Even camping is a strategy that a lot of people winge about, I mean, camping isn’t easy and not everyone can do it successfully, it’s called strategic placement, and butthurt noobs have called it Camping to trend it into the sh*tzone of gaming. My loadouts in Halo 4 all had a plasma pistol, my favourite mode back then was BTB so I was the one guy on the team that could or would destroy an enemy vehicle, but I’d also use it on players. Now in H5, people have the ability to evade the combo, if they’re getting you with the plasma then it’s time to take a different route and try to kill from afar with a precision weapon.

its pretty much a power weapon just pick it up

This is basically saying “as soon as a team realizes they are losing they resort to trying to win”. The audacity of some players. Dont they know that once they lose the lead they are supposed to let oTH3 ASSASSINo win or its just not fair!
