Guess I’m just… Better.
Another thing I’ve noticed is EAC is active in the campaign…
I’ve never quite understood why 343i has decided to enable this in the campaigns…
I mean yeah, you can make an argument about achievements, but really, achievements aren’t the main focus anymore. You can’t unlock avatar items with them anymore, and now that the average person has at least 100k in gamerscore (and nobody cares) it’s not even a bragging right except to show 100% completion of a game…
Honestly think it should be turned off for Campaign, since the campaign is a separate entity anyway
Does that mean there wont be any mods for the campaign?
They did a great job, I loved it. Unlike 4 and 5, this feels like a worthy return to Halo
In my opinion, which holds no weight over anyone else.
It’s a bland entry, which is a mild improvement over the last game.
The tower of power or whatever was a slog.
I really wish I could just carry more ammo in the campaign, and I’ve heard you can’t restock special weapons with normal dropped ones.
Scorpion controls are annoying. Probably MP balancing.
The banished were pretty bland.
I don’t really get any motivation for them. The motivation they did try to provide seems irrelevant as they were our enemies in Halo Wars anyways, however I never played those games so maybe I am missing something.
I didn’t relate to the pilot and found him annoying.
The weapon was ok, but I saw her arc coming right away.
Brutes were supposed to be savages and Elites were part of a warrior society.
My first impression which was from Halo 2 is they hate collectively hate each other.
Now it’s like they occupy the same space, which makes both less unique.
The endless lady seems like alternative concept art for the Didact or something.
I can’t say I am excited for the next installment at all. I am a lifelong fan and really only got negative towards the franchise because of Halo 5.
I understood the hatred between the brutes and elites all stems from the prophets favouring one species over the other. When Atriox defied the Covenant he had all species from there join his ranks, and they were bonded over their hatred of the Covenant.
all good points, but there are a few you missed like the boring spongy boss fights and all but a few just there to pad playtime.
All of the enemies “fight” the same way, they’ll just stand back and shoot at you and will never press you or try to flank.
Who at 343 decided a punch from a grunt could take half your shields, but a sword wont kill you in one hit on heroic. Speaking of which it seems every elite above minor carries a sword in their pocket.
Since when do the aliens of the covenant ( I know they’re called the banished but lets face it they are basically the covenant 2.0) use human weapons, in all of the lore and I mean ALL of it, they find our weapons inferior and primitive.
once you get inside the ring most of the corridors are empty and the only battles are in large rooms.
the open world is pretty but bland and boring with very little forerunner lore laying around (only 7 “terminals” in total and they’re beyond cryptic). And absolutely nothing about ancient humans that we were promised in the advertisements.
The Covenant used human weapons in Reach…
Plus the Banished are known for salvaging anything they can get their hands on, which is how they got so big. And they’re stranded on the ring so they need all they can get
only in reach’s firefight i do however remember brutes using human shotguns in H2 but that was probably bc the dev’s didnt have time to get the mauler in so…
also how are the banished stranded theres like 10 banished ships in orbit above the halo and I guarantee all of them are slipspace capable.
Brutes and elites used human weapons in the campaign, in a couple of missions.
+1 to what AloneOne stated.
The introduction of clearly defined damage types and their rolls brings about more specific and strategic use case. Regardless of difficulty the design is to cause the player to think about their engagements and select the correct tool for the job.
In past halos we could just go in with our fists and some grenades on legendary and come out on top we shouldn’t have to think about “do i have the right weapon for (x) enemy.”
Not in reach, I should know, I’ve beat it like 6-7 times on legendary.
Edit; upon further research the only human weapon the covenant uses in all of reach’s campaign is the mounted turret, and only if its on its tripod
I only remember the brutes using them in Halo 2 myself. Maybe again in Halo 3.
Played them countless times too. Not 100% sure though.
Am I high? I played Halo Reach 4 days ago and I swear they used human weapons.
Idk man
I think the sandbox is generally unfinished from a campaign perspective. So they just gave some enemies human weapons cause they didn’t have time to put in weapons like the Fuel rod gun, Carbine, Plasma rifle, spiker, etc.
They never use human weapons in a single level. You can have covenant with human weapons in firefight, their labelled as heretics.
Amazing campaign, can’t wait for more
If you speed run main missions only its super short. For example, I finished legendary today in 5 hours and 37 minutes (two hours of which were spent on the final boss).
That being said, my first playthrough on normal where I got absolutely everything available (literally everything you can do), I played for 18 hours and 20 minutes. That playthrough I watched all cutscenes etc whereas the legendary one I skipped them all.
Agreed, especially since the fuel rod cannon is in the files but it’s not complete.
