Thoughts on the Campaign?

Apex was created on a limited budget?? First I’m hearing this. Weren’t these the creators of the MW games and two titanfall games.

I love the atmosphere of the game. Lone odst in a city at night, covenant everywhere searching around. MCC added proper rain to the game and man, does it really add to the experience.

Meh. Im okay with that. At the end of Halo 5 we knew they were in trouble anyways. I just hoped they would’ve fleshed out more of the end of H5 with the guardians and promethans instead of just dropping it all together

I’m glad you like it! Certainly has more atmosphere than Infinite I will give you that!

Story telling underwhelming.

Ok so before I buy/if I buy the campaign can someone confirm the below.

Legendary Difficulty: bosses are hard (which I like) but all other enemies are easy?

Side missions become very repetitive/boring?

Artificial intelligence not so intelligent for a 2021 game?

Made for kids?

The marines are kinda meh but the enemies seem to have plenty of personality to them. Theyre a little blind at night time but thats more of a problem of the game not getting dark enough.

I mean combat AI do they make smart decision to fight back

This doesn’t sound all that amazing.

I’ve always loved and looked forward to Halo campaigns. They didn’t need to go open world, they just didn’t need to. The same for free to play multiplayer.

Are there no snow or different environments within the ring?

i don’t know,. It seems there is too much missing from this game, Campaign and multiplayer. ( They want us to pay to grind for bland faded armour colours on the worst designed spartan models? We can’t replay missions? These guys are on drugs) I’m not spending a cent on this until things are improved.

This disappoints me, as I’d rather pay double for a complete full experience. I’ll see what happens down the track. I’ll treat it like a release then. Otherwise, maybe I’ll do the gamepass thing.

Make no mistake. The priority for this game was the monetisation, and everything else suffered because of it.

This was the problem that I had with Halo Infinite’s advertising. I understand that A LOT of people liked the new ad campaign, but it felt very “Marvel-esque” to me (if that makes sense).

Like, you know how Marvel wants to make their movies have a serious tone to them but they don’t want to freak out the kids so they always throw in a joke or two during a serious moment to also lighten the mood immediately after the serious thing happens?

That’s what Halo Infinite’s advertising feels like. I went back and watched the “Remember Reach” and “We are ODST” ads and they’re bleak, sad, and subtly morbid.

The new direction of Halo is definitely much more family friendly.

Different kind of atmosphere thats for sure

Legendary difficulty is similar to Halo 3 if that makes sense

Side missions are repetitive but there are like 8-10 of them each so it’s not too bad

Enemy ai is similar to Halo 2

Made for kids? Probably. All of the Halo games kinda were except for 2 and Reach

I have been really enjoying it, I prefer the linear levels to the open world. The open world is very cool and fun, but I REALLY like the linear stuff. Very enjoyable so far, I highly recommend it.

I hope for dlc they stick to some more linear levels

  1. Yes

  2. Repetitive, yes. Boring, subjective.

  3. Only lower tier enemies. High tier enemies that (usually) wear red armor are much smarter.

  4. Again, subjective. “The Weapon” is DEFINITELY made for non-stop, constant comedic relief and the story is nothing as serious as Halo 2, Reach, or ODST or as emotional as Halo 4. So it depends on what your definition of “made for kids” is.

i’m sorry but strategy is what we needed in H3 against chieftains, this crap is just warden eternal reworks when i can smack one with a hammer 4+ times feed him 4+ grenades a skewer, and two direct hit rockets on heroic and he still has over half of his health it 10,000% breaks immersion, another example (still on heroic with 0 skulls) is a grunt assassination target his personal energy shield took 3 + sniper rounds to negate like WTF a grunt with an elites energy shields, all of this so far just seems like story padding like in H5

I loved H4’s story I never read any of the associated books but i did read all of H3’s legendary terminal an when i met diadact i was like oh S*** he’s still alive

Thanks. Yeah Halo 3 legendary was fairly easy tbh.

H4’s story is very underrated. It’s extremely short, but very good.

Thanks for the reply @Knightinggale96
