After playing Halo 5 for a good amount of time I’ve been shlulder bashed hundreds or thousands of times and done it to others as well. However with all the times I’ve encountered it I cannot for the life of me figure out how to dodge it reliably. I’d also like to take this opportunity to ask your opinions on Shoulder Bashing, is it a bit too good ? Since it removes full shields and about 90% of your health. If you do think it’s a bit over powered in it’s current state how would you change it ? Personally I don’t think it should do as much damage or be able to be performed after rounding sharp turns. Just my opinion and I’m interested in hearing yours
I think that if it didn’t lock so well it would be fine. I once used it in Grifball, even though my target evaded me the Spartan Charge aim assist/lock on spun me in a circle around him.
Ive tried dashing back and it hits me , i tried dashing over and it hits me. The only thing that works seems to be dashing to the side. You can also
- Burst with the Ar and Melee - 3 magnum shots and melee - 2br bursts and meleewhatever right, the problem is that sometimes a slight delay can screw you and your melee does not register. To me the spartan charge is terrible
It’s the one mechanic that I would actually remove from Halo 5. At the very least reduce it’s damage a little. With such a small radar you can spartan charge your way into somebody from outside of radar range. It’s kind of annoying, but it does go both ways so it’s at least balanced.
I honestly don’t see how people cant counter Spartan charge, I mean unless your rounding a corner or not looking behind you it should be easy to counter in most scenarios. If anything had to be changed I would go with distance of the charge or remove the lock on, the rest just depends on the skill of the charger and the dodger.
343 fixing the motion sensor would also help for some people.
Has anyone tested whether or not you can crouch jump over someone doing it.
I find it hard to dodge from up front, but recently I’ve just been ninja’ing people who try to do it from behind. I still want it removed though.

You cant from the front I think. Every time I try it doesn’t work.
The game would honestly be better if this was removed completely. It adds nothing to the game and only functions as a crutch for players in CQC. You can spartan charge almost as soon as you start sprinting.
I would like ground pound to go as well but there’s at least a stronger argument for that as it requires at least some timing/skill/SOMETHING to achieve well.
I love it. I think its fun and it makes me listen for other Spartans around me.
I hate how if throws you back out of melee range when you get hit.
Love it. It truly shows your a spartan

it shows other spartans are weak, cant even handle a spartan charge.
We could give it a long call down timer but I guess it would become an armour ability then.

This says it all. SC benefits from the lock on component of the aim assist if you’re pointed at the target. It’s the same deal as the melee lunge. Thrusting backwards will not work if they initiate a SC before you thrust, as the lock bridges the gap. Thrusting to the side also won’t work once SC locks on. The only way to avoid it is to thrust at the proper time. Aim assist on weapons makes sense. But it shouldn’t apply to melee attacks at all IMO.
I despise the charge. Takes no skill to perform. I would remove it completely from the game, but short of that, I would at least make it where if the person charging you gets shot, it takes him/her out of sprint.
They need to increase the time between impact and when you pull up your weapon.
Spartan charge should be a Warzone armor mod.

This I would be ok with.
Fine until ‘teammates’ do it to you. Had someone take exception to me killing a sniper on top of the garage last night. Kept shoulder charging me until I fell off…
