Thoughts on New Waypoint?

I adore the new look, I just wish that our campaign stats and such were still accessible. Looking up my campaign times on the old waypoint was absolutely ESSENTIAL to my completing all of the “Complete X on Legendary in under 3 hours” achievements. Now I don’t know what people trying to get those achievements will do since the MCC leaderboards are pretty unreliable.

Its buggy in places but its also young, so I won’t hold it against 343.

You can still find some campaign stats, but you have to back out of what appears to be the Forum sub-page. Click on the Halo Waypoint icon in the top left corner of the screen, and explore from there. Only downside is, it looks like the times are recorded in seconds now? It’s a little unclear what the measurements of time are that are being used, but I think it’s seconds. So you might have to do some math.

I honestly think the forums are kind of a mess, Viewing replies has to load in, why does it not just show each post in order and show the reply above like it used to. Now it has to load in replies then when I want to view the rest of the posts comments I have to back out or push “View hidden replies” and then it has to load that in. It just seems unintuitive and slow compared to how streamlined and simple it used to be. Viewing other peoples profile is also garbage. I could click on a person whos posted to see their profile, service record and bio. Now it’s not even on the same site. The forums is seperate from the main waypoint website. Like why ruin Halo Waypoint. It’s a mess imo.

I have completed both of Seeker’s tutorials. These turorials did at least provide some insight about how the forum work and how to create posts.

I personally like the old HaloWaypoint better. It was mobile friendly, unlike this one. It was also a lot more detailed and expansive

How do I even know if I replied? I’m not seeing it? Does it take a while for my reply to register?

Wait, why is the system automatically hiding my post? Do posts need to be approved now?

How do i see the old MCC development updates?

Still getting used to it. Wish it could have been launched with a bit more polish (such as correct service record stats) and with an ability to at least peruse the old forum threads. It’s interesting that the thread remembers where you were the last time you visited, or if you scroll back up the page, giving you an easy way to find your place again.

Edit: it also seems like you can’t edit a post if it’s over a day old, probably requiring someone to make a completely new post. Not sure if I’m a fan of that or not…

Is there any reason as to why not?

It was addressed further up in this thread:

I still cannot seem to edit my profile or change my profile image. Also, did all names with a space have an underscore added?

So far, I find the old one better. Simpler layout and therefore easier to find what you’re looking for, and I find the old one easier on the eyes. I also don’t like that some things, like the trailer for Infinite under that section puts me on YouTube, instead of either playing it within waypoint, or opening YouTube in a new tab.

I personally think new comments/replies should be at the top of the page, not the bottom. So you scroll from newest to oldest comments/replies.

Have also had a couple of issues where I click a message, or one of the categories, and it takes me to a blank page, because it couldn’t load. I go back, and then click it again, or just refresh on that page, and then it works.

You can no longer bookmark matches to watch in the theater later? (Halo 5) boo boooooo

Yeah, I wish we could edit our profiles like in the old Waypoint. I want to be able to change my profile picture, change the background, etc. And I never noticed the underscore thing, but if your name doesn’t normally have an underscore, I’d guess they changed it to be like that. Which I personally do not like.

I was wondering where I saw this design before. But then it hit me, the roblox devforum. I feel as if the style fits right in, but the only thing I’m really happy about is that you don’t have to wait for x amount of time just to post, which is the case in devforum.

This is a pre build form, pretty common actually.

I really like it too, I wasn’t sure how the change would go, but it seems much faster for me and the UI is way better than the old IMO

I actually like the new look!

Agreed. Maybe I need to try it on the app?
