Thoughts on New Waypoint?

Not sure sorry. Badges are a feature of Discourse so potentially some here will be repurposed or new ones created moving forward

No mine is also incorrect. It says I never played Halo 3 whereas I was a 47. I have some personal records saved for proof.

Everyone I look up is the same, no one has played Halo 3.

In the flights for vNext the records were buggy but still showed our Halo 3 information. Now Halo 3, ODST, Reach, and CEA are totally messed up for everyone. Hopefully it’s resolved soon!

Maybe in time we all can have a white-theme, like the old waypoint

I will say one thing, I like pages more then scrolling.

I hate how it seems like they’ve decided nothing but Halo Infinite and MCC exists. Where are the legacy pages?

It’s very similar to the Gearbox (borderlands) forums, which makes it familiar to me, as a forum service this site has more capability than the old one,
however, it feels as though the games, service records, spartan customization etc. is far more segmented from the forums than it used to be.
e.g clicking on somebody’s profile isn’t a quick way to go to their service record and shared gametypes/maps anymore.

One thing I’ve noticed about the new Waypoint is that you can see when people are in the process of typing a reply to a post - Small feature but its pretty cool.

Funny you say that - as Gearbox uses Discourse for their forums as well!

When the change to Discourse was announced I went over there to get a feel for how the Waypoint forums may look in the future. Now that the change is here, I will say I definitely see the similarity to the Gearbox forums (naturally.)

However the differences I find do remind me more our prior Waypoint forums, which I assume is intentional and was put in place by 343i - an attention to detail I am grateful for!

I like the new layout. Threads are no longer separated by pages, which tripped me up for a second lol.

Reminds me alot of the Gears of War forums, I hope it doesn’t become the same mess.
Aside from that, it an awesome change

it clearly has had a lot of work put into it, and is visually impressive. But I fear it may end up being off putting to some long timers. Also did you guys get rid of the forum badges?
personally certain aspects I think look a little over designed but there are a lot of really cool new features. the dark mode also isn’t burning my retinas out?

Not really a fan of having to click the “welcome to vnext” article in the news feed of the app to be able to access the forums either. Should be a way to access it directly from the main menu. Or am I missing something?

Really not a fan of the changes to the service record. Much more cluttered, harder to navigate, and the campaign mission times are all garbled + the skull icons for completing LASO are gone as well.

It’s definitely different! I like the new forums. I wish the Waypoint Profile had more to it. At the moment it’s just kind of an empty void.

So the new site is awesome, but where the heck did Halo 5 go?

Its quite cluttered compared to the older version, too many avatars on a single page makes it harder to find my own posts. Oh and i prefer the white background.

The times under your service record are fastest times overall, not fastest times for the hardest difficulty beat, thus making them worthless for Legendary in under 3 hours achievement tracking. Your records for this achievement are now impossible to obtain… better hope you recorded them yourself.

what do you mean? halo 5 service record is still viewable.

Yeah, mine too! For the mcc the emblem’s primary and second colors are inverted, my avatar and my rank in pvp matches are incorrect. But I think they’ll see that soon

Ye, it says that I’ve played only halo 4 and CEA, even if I played all of them today to update that information. It’s still incorrect as I’ve never played them
