Thoughts on New Waypoint?

Not to big of a fan compared to the last waypoint but that’s probably nostalgia, but there was one big problem that I ran into and that was when I logged onto the new waypoint for the first time someone was posting under my account even though I haven’t used waypoint in maybe the past week

Looking great, much better than the last one.

This sucks but is really reasonable.

Still adjusting, I kind of miss the old Waypoint, I was almost an ODST rank from constant chatting. Now it doesn’t really seem to hold a rank other than to boost you up to give you more chat privileges?

okay i got big thanks

I think it has a lot of useful and powerful features but I need time adjust to the new interface.

Looks good but still the older website was soo good. I will really miss that one

It’s been a much needed upgrade, looks cleaner, and (despite some teething issues still going on) will likely to allow more features to be added that the old version wouldn’t.

I am scared, I am replying to myself (A different person) and they are using MY account to say this. What is happening?

Ignoring the myriad bugs and boring forum ranks, it’s pretty neat. Though I’d really like to see MCC customization and Season Pass switching added to the Service Record.

Not a fan of having to click the parent post reply thing instead of just showing the quote. And then you get the show hidden or collapsed replies icon bar at the bottom afterwards which you have to click to see more posts. It’s just makes things more tedious where they don’t have to be.

I really like it! I do miss having a banner that we can customize under our profile though.

Is there a way to hide the top posts section? I literally don’t care about that and I’d rather not have to scroll down a tad in order to get to the game forums due to them.

There’s a scroll bar to the right of the posts that makes it really easy to scroll to an exact place in the topic.

It’s up to the user to quote previous posts by highlighting text and then clicking “Quote”. But I agree that the process of seeing what the user replied to when they don’t manually quote someone is tedious. Clicking “load parent post” should just load the parent post directly above the post replying to it instead of reloading the page and changing what posts are shown. However, I don’t think this is something that 343 have control of; Discourse, the tech that powers the forums, would have to make that change themselves, I think.

Technically, Discourse is fully open source and has plug-in support, so with enough effort you could probably make it anything you want. In practice, I don’t think 343i has the resources to get into that sort of thing. It would be awesome if at some point we got some custom functionality to address some of the shortcomings of Discourse, but I wouldn’t have any expectations about it.

Thoughts? Uh, WHERE THE -Yoink!- IS MY SPARTAN COMPANY?! I had a whole community and friends there, and someone on the Discord told me they were all gone?
