By no means am I a “hardcore” player. I’ve played some of the Beta so far and thought I’d offer my opinion as a long time Halo player.
1 - Why have a sprint function? This ties to the movement speed. Weather or not its been mentioned already previously, I simply do not see the point of a sprint button if the movement itself isn’t noticeably different. It honestly feels like the sprint function is only slightly faster than the normal run function. I think sprint should be made a little bit faster.
2 - Sound. The sound in this game is excellent for anything in front of you. On multiple occasions I have noticed that players have been able to run up and back smack me without my knowledge. I have a pretty solid headset and run a decent rig. So I know the issue isn’t on my end. The sound needs to be tweaked a little for players.
3 - BR. The battle rifle does not get shots out in fast enough succession compared to the older titles. I know that 343 is wanting to do their own thing. But there were plenty of times I failed to make shots because of the slow firing rate.
4 - The “bro/serious” acts. During the beginning of the match, everyone gets to show off their character and does this “bro” emote. The EXACT same thing Halo 5 got criticized for during its Beta. Eventually the feature was removed and everyone was happy. Now I don’t know if the times have changed in the past 6 years since Halo 5s launch, but the return of it makes the game feel silly. At the end of the match the Spartans are standing at what’s known as “parade rest”. To go from goofy, to serious seems odd. I understand the screen roll at the beginning. Its to show off the armor players either pay for or unlock through the battle pass. I just personally think its unnecessary and too flashy for a game like Halo. Show off the characters, just tone down the emotes or make them match. Like bro with bro. Or serious with serious I guess.
5 - AI. The AI in multiplayer talks entirely to much. I don’t mind the commentary from my little AI pal, I just wish the amount of talking is toned down so I can hear the match and everything around me.
Maybe I’m getting older and my taste in games are changing. And that’s fine. From my perspective this game didn’t feel like a Halo title. People complained about the multiplayer change in Halo 5. I personally loved that games multiplayer. Something about it seems off.
