I don’t think he’s been hired as a writer specifically. From what I understand he’s in a “campaign lead” role.
Basically supporting the existing team by making sure they have the resources and time they need to complete their goals.
As for his direct impact onto the games story, I don’t know how much influence he could/would have over that.
Either way, I’m happy so see Staten back with Halo, I’m hoping his presence gets the game back where it needs to be
