Thoughts on Halo3 and Halo4?

I was thinking this morning that I might dust off the H3 game disk and play it to “prep” for H4? The look of H4 reminds me more of H3 than Reach. I know the game mechanics are different but are they going to be closer to Reach or H3?

50-50

H4 contains elements from Reach such as AAs and loadouts.

It also contains the MP maps built from scratch like Halo 3s and the old beloved favorite weapons are back.

I’ll feel like playing the best Halo when i play Halo 4.

(Lol make sense?)

Honestly I would play Halo3 if you plan on using the BR to try and get used to again, if not play Reach for the AAs and such

I would suggest not playing H3 ever again

I would play MW3.

I haven’t played Halo 4 yet, but from watching tons of gameplay vids, I feel like its designed to visually cater to H3 but seems like it might feel more like Reach. It’s hard to describe, but I feel like Reach ran smoother than Halo 3 and that Halo 4 will run similarly.

All I know from watching gameplay is that H4 seems to have movement and flow more similar to Reach, so I’ll be playing more Reach and less H3 to prepare.

Then again I could be completely wrong.

Yes, yes, and did I mention yes?

I’m doing a playthrough in chronological order (excluding Wars) to get ready for Halo 4.
Reach > CE/CE:A > 2 > ODST > 3 > 4 (once it’s out hurr durr)
I’m still on CE:A right now. I’m gunna have to do a lot of playing to finish in time.

I’m still playing Halo 3 since midnight release of that game. I never stopped/ I will continue to play it even after Halo 4 comes out.

Anyone who plays Halo 3 over Reach will be a force to reckon with when they get on Halo 4. You don’t need to play reach to learn how to press armor lock and be invincible. Halo 3 will teach you map control, BR, strafing, and awareness far more than Reach could ever hope to do.

Just play Ranked Team slayer and get to 50 (if you can). Play those rigorous matches against good players (unlike Reach’s baby casual player base) and when Halo 4 rolls around you’ll be like “Is that all you got Halo 4!”

The majority of posts I’ve seen about it from people who have played it said that it felt more like Halo 3 than Halo Reach. I’ve not played it but from what I’ve seen, that seems to be the case. The AA’s also seem less intrusive and more “Halo 3-like” than Reach’s e.g. Regen field, Hardlight shield (Similiar to the bubble shield), Auto-sentry (It was in the campaign as an equipment pick-up), and the pulse grenades remind me a lot of the energy drains.

Movement speed and jump height is said to be the same as Halo 3’s as well.

I completed Halo 3 Legendary for old times sake yesterday. And I’m now going to do Reach and ODST.

I feel ready for Halo 4.
