thoughts on Halo 5 graphics and sound effects

I like the graphics and sound effects of Halo 5 but there are some horribly made.
Well made graphics and sound effects
-weapons and vehicles (they look pretty realistic to me)
-rocks and trees (they are very realistic looking)
-Arena maps (I’m not saying all of them are well made for gameplay, but they are good looking maps)
-Spartans
-Covenants
-Prometheans
-snow
-gun sounds (I wonder why some or most of them are hearing differently in cut scenes and gameplay, definitely cut scene’s gun sounds are beautiful)
Here are some horribly made in my perspective
-plants (excludes trees) look horrible
-grounds
-frictional sound effects… unsatisfying, especially when you walk over the water and shooting at snow and water
-Marines… just trash
Overall, I think 343 has done well. If 343 worked more on the nature renders, the game might looked better. For some reason, most plantings in Halo 5 looking trash.
I hope 343 to make plants looking better on next Halo games.

Graphics aren’t that awe inspiring. Wished halo maintained its “Dirty” graphics instead of everything looking brand new. What I mean I would like to see more mud, dirt, scratches, blood, etc. Halo 3 and Reach design wise with graphics were great. Not a fan of my Spartan looking like a power ranger with the most glossiest paint job I have ever seen in a halo franchise. Pretty sure the Halo 5 beta was great when it came to its graphics but people said quote on quote “it’s too dark” and the end result is now currently in the game. But this is just my opinion, I prefer the dark and gritty graphic design in previous halo.

I also preferred the dirty graphics as well it made the game more realistic. The blood splattering previous halo game’s added to the tone of the game and made you feel like a spartan instead of a toy soldier

To me the graphics are kinda lacking compared to other games on Xbox one, even H2A seemed to look visually better. Sounds are good except the sound the H5 BR makes. Sounds like a nail gun or something.

I agree, it’s too new and shiney, and things like no blood irritate me. I played Titanfall yesterday, it still looks fantastic. I know Halo is now simulation combat, but it’s too clean.

Halo 5 sacrificed a lot for a stable 60fps. What we get is smooth gameplay but graphics that somehow look a bit worse than Halo 2A (especially the multiplayer maps, yeesh what a downgrade.) And to some degree look like an upgraded Halo 4 instead of next gen halo (not directly just the artstyle but the overall look and textures.)

The sounds and music are absolutely solid however.

The Last of Us Remastered and At Theif’s End is At 1080p 60fps; These games do it flawlessly while providing optimal graphics.

other games that can’t do it like to make excuses " the reason we don’t have 1080p is so we can give you better gameplay" they said this in 2008 on xbox 360. Developers promised to give 1080p if we got a next ten console, now that xboxone has arrived, they still come up short.

Now that we get 1080p, they need to clean up sad graphics, the environment runs smooth but graphics looks to be drawn with crayons, when you get close to the trees they begin to look like paper or graphics came from the N64 era. The graphics on the spartan armor or sky environment looks Okay but everything else looks sad (trees, grass, ground and walls)

yeah 343, thanks for the 1080p but you forgot to wean off the sad last gen graphics. if 343 would revert back to 480i or 720p to hide the sad graphics, gamers will be mad imo.

Uncharted 4 is 30fps. Even on the PS4 and Xbox One, for games like that, a solid 30fps is hard to reach. Look at AC Unity. lol

But you can get away with a lot less in third person games in terms of textures. Have a very pretty, open world with beautiful lighting filled to the brim with fairly low-detailed assets, but no one will be the wiser because it looks incredible from the player’s perspective. But if you were to play those games in first person, you would start to see that. Also, the PS4 is just better hardware. I’m don’t think it would have been enough to have done Halo 5 any favors, but it certainly helps the look and frame rate of its exclusives.

I only need one word to sum it up.

Awful.

I agree, I prefer the look of Halo 3 what with Lord Hood’s potato head and the AR’s popcorn-popper sound effects.

Halo 2 Anniversary’s campaign looked so much better than Halo 5 in both art style as well as visual fidelity. After seeing H2A, I had very high hopes for Halo 5, only to be left with a very strong feeling of “meh”. Are the graphics bad? Technically, no, they’re not. They could be better. The art style? Still not a fan of what 343i is doing with its plastic power ranger Spartans. In some maps, such as Raid on Apex 7, the lighting is so strong that everything looks like plastic.

Graphics are ok but the sound is pretty pretty good
