I know people are saying we should not judge the game until we play it. I just want to write out my thoughts and I am sure come of the community will be mad…
Because all H1 players take pride, I have been playing since H1 (Haha, had to throw that in there).
I too, prefer the classic Halo Arena based shooter. My favorite game is Halo 1.
I understand what 343 is trying to do with Halo 5.
Bungie introduced Sprint (I hate it!), but it is in there. Reach introduced a lot of things that I would say made the game feel like an un-halo game. 343 tried to change it back a little (Halo 4). Two games have been delivered that the classic game lovers hate.
Now we have Halo 5 (soon), 343 is trying to bring it back to the arena shooter. Based upon what Reach introduced and Halo 4 had, it is hard for them to remove everything out of the game that was once introduced in.
Special Abilities:
Sprint (Interesting idea they have here. I am willing to give it a try. I think I may like someone else’s idea though of having the person come out of sprint if they are being shot.)- Ground Pound (Seems overpowered. Maybe when they do a ground pound (if you must keep it in), keep them in first person and have their shields go down when they pound)- Clamer seems okay. I prefered it a lot more when you had to use your crouch button and hope you made the jump. Think Lockout from Halo 2. - Slide is my least favorite. Seems way to similar to Call of Duty, not a Halo based game. Sorry!- Charge would not be bad if you could shoot them out of their sprint to avoid this.- Smart scope is not bad. It is different, but not bad. I would prefer the scope to the BR and what not to look the same. But if it plays similar, I think we can adjust.
Concerns:
Spartan voices calling out could be a cool idea, but it could also be annoying. Especially if it could give away your location. All in all, I wish people would just learn to talk.- Please allow for classic Halo controller set up (Default, Bumper Jumper). I do not want to use left trigger as my scope (Right thumb stick is where it should remain in Halo)- Guns seems a little overpower so far, but I know we are no where the release. I think the BR and Pistol should be able to out kill a AR spartan. - The announcer telling everyone when Power Weapons spawn. This is just silly. Let the players communicate and time in their heads or watch the clock on the screen.
What I Like:
I like the focus on Arena Shooter. I really do and I am hopeful for this game. I have concerns because it is adding too much, but I am willing to give it a whirl this December.- It does seem fast paced, which is a bonus! What I am hoping for:
Button glitches (even if intentionally put in, like Double Beat down or side reload).- Individual Skill will return and Team skill (Good players will obviously out kill bad players)- That it will have a good skill ranking system (H2/h3 without getting level locked)- BR to be the best starting weapon (4 shot kill)- Pistol to be 3 shot (Man can dream, right?)- That it will be considered a competitive game (Hopefully MLG can pick it up!)
What else would you add?

Where is the line where we tweak abilities to make sure players still remember their basics and the other side where we nerf it until no one uses it it may as well not be there? That is, unless that was your implication.

Would not make sense to me that enemies can hear your chatter to me anyway. And to tell you from my own experience, people simply cannot afford mics, or just me anyway haha.

If by button glitches you mean things like BXR and BXB, then they should not intentionally add them. Yes, they were in, and I’ve finally swallowed that they are something that showed “pro” status. With that said, that doesn’t mean it needs to be in future games. Intentionally building in glitches is poor workmanship, or catering only to the ones that want to find holes in games to exploit and use against more vanilla players. Either way, it’s a no no.
I’d agree that the BR should be the top weapon, but that makes your point of the Pistol contradict it. If the Pistol is a 3-shot, you’d have no need for the BR.

Mics come in the box with the XB1, maybe not great, but they do. Also Black Friday is almost upon us too so there are some great deals out there.
All I can say is I’m glad they are bringing the competitiveness back to Halo. It needs it. I don’t believe in every change they’re doing (like the control scheme), but I can’t lie: he gameplay looks good.
There are just as many opinions as there are Halo players I (also a CE guy) like the way Halo is going they need to innovate or risk doing the same thing every year like CoD or AC (I love AC)

Unfortunately, I am not American and living in the most expensive country in the world means a normal bloke like me can’t even afford an Xbone and the MCC without serious wallet damage.
Plus I still remember how the fragile the mic was with the Xbox 360, thus why I am typing this.
