Thoughts on Halo 4 Campaign

I think the Halo 4 Campaign is good but could be better. It could be better by making it less confusing. First, in the mission Dawn the Master Chief gets hit with the destruction of the ship and landing on Requiem alive! Can anyone explain how it is possible for this to happen?

How did Chief crash from the Prophet’s ship into Earth and survive in Halo 3? He armor locked. I assumed Cortana disabled it this time.

Campaign could be better if it had replay value like Halo CE and Halo 2 had. sigh I can dream.

I thought it was phenomenal

I thought the campaign was great, i like the major checkpoint system so you can start where you left off, I hope in Halo 5: Guardians they go more in detail about what happened to Cortana

My only complaint about the H4 campaign is how little personality the prometheans have. What really sold me on Halo CE and to some extent 2 through Reach was the quirky enemy AI. Grunts that panicked, the cry of frustrated rage from an elite stuck with a grenade, sleeping grunts, and the constant enemy chatter made the game feel alive. Even the flood had a terrifying quality to them. I get that the prometheans are machines, but they were constructed out of digitized humans and are a missed opportunity for an engaging encounter rather then a simple exchange of bullets.

I liked the Halo 4 campaign but I never fire up a mission to replay for the fun of it although I do that with missions in CE Anniversary, 3, and Reach regularly. I found Halo 4 missions to be very linear without much opportunity for changing up tactics. I also think there’s no excuse for the rapid weapon despawns and the often very long intervals between checkpoints. I hope these things are different in Guardians.

Halo 4’s campaign was enjoyable, but, as I everyone has said, it lacked the drive to replay missions and it felt pretty short

It was great. My only problem is that the soundtrack wasn’t mixed right in-game. I could barely hear it in intense firefight (the thing that made 3 have more epic moments, imo).

I think it could have been better. Halo 5 will determine how good Halo 4 was in terms if story.

I liked the campaign I think it was a great restart for bringing the master chief back. I imagine it was a base in which to start some new epic story hopefully.

The campaign was good. I was glad to see master chief back in action and what not. However, I felt like it had so much more potential. For example, the fight with between master chief and didact was too quick and simple for two badass characters. Also the intro cutscene with Dr. Halsey was a bit confusing and irrelevant as she is never again seen throughout the campaign.Overall I liked the campaign

The campaign was good but the plot confusing and when you complete halo 4 on legendary you only get to see masterchiefs face which was good but didn’t tell any clues for the plot of halo 5

I though the campaign was amazing.

That’s what I thought at first too, but I recently replayed on Legendary and had a blast. I’ve also been replaying missions in co-op. The one with the mammoth was awesome.

Moi J’AI fini la campagne en Légendaire hors ligne donc je N’ai Pas pu Avoir l’armure de MARK IV

True. The Mammoth level is “Reclaimer.” That one, “Requiem,” and “Midnight” often come up as weekly challenges and I always complete them if I notice them listed. I have the most fun with “Reclaimer” probably because the wide open spaces remind me of my all time favorite Halo level “Assault on the Control Room.”

Overall I think Halo 4 has had one of the best campaigns of any of the halo games. I thought the weapons were much better, more enemy variety, and I love the sprint function. Although I know everyone hates them, I would like to see the flood in Halo 5. They just make you change your tactics and fight differently. Especially when you had Flood versus Covenant.

To be fair, consider the “boss fights” of halo 1 and 3.

Really good campaign in my opinion.

Personally, it was my favorite Halo campaign of the whole series, edging out CE for the top spot. This is largely due to its story telling and character development. Never has a Halo story (in the games) dived so much into its characters before. I felt connected to all of them and understood their logic. That’s not to say it was perfect. The level design and set pieces could have been better, as could the variety in what Chief did…too much one finger button pushing/pulling lever/pushing some object for my taste, not enough variety. I liked the dodge stuff from the first level in the game and thought they would expand on it more as the game went on, but instead, they simply abandoned it altogether…never understood that. IMO, 343 tells a better story than Bungie did, now they just have to add more situational variety to the campaign…have MC/AL do more things other than shoot stuff and push buttons…maybe some QTEs at certain points…maybe dodging and shooting at other times…maybe jumping from speeder bike to speeder bike at others but spruce it up.
