Well on 1/20/16 it was announced that the Halo 2/ Halo 2 Anniversary Battle Rifle will be making a comeback in halo multiplayer. Now be warned this is a Mythic Req. Which means that it is impossible to get, but still obtainable. Now to me this feels like the old weapons are making a return which is great! The Halo 2 BR is also a level 4 Req. Please note that the Halo 2 Battle Rifle can be in forge for customs games. What do you think about this move by 343? Hate it or love it? Let me know below! #Guardians Gaming

I don’t get 343, this should of been in instead of the classic BR in the last update. Don’t get me wrong, i love the classic BR for Warzone and only use that now, but they were wanting to recreate that classic scope when they could of maybe done the weapon itself first?
Also im hoping to see more of these returning weapons appear in Arena, i know they can be on forge maps but it would be nice if they started looking at the other maps and tweaking a few weapons around …etc (eg. SPNKr Rocket Launcher on Collesium?)

The original Halo 2 helmet is the default Halo 5 one I believe, not an unlock.

The Halo 2 BR has a slower rate of fire, but thats what i mean, they could of added this in first then consider the classic BR in a future update, would make Warzone interesting as you would need to have some decent skill to out BR someone when they have a faster rate of fire.
And the classic maps would be interesting, but the arguement they could use there is the fact theres the MCC for that.

I enjoy seeing the return of the classic weapons. Now if we could only get the classic maps as well.
I wonder what if anything will be different about the gun…

All mythic weapons have some stat attatched to them, such as Nornfang (Sniper) having damage boost, allowing you to 1 shot people regardless of where you hit them. Or Prophets Bane (Energy Sword) having speed boost and active camo. My guess is with this being a mythic weapon it will most likely to have damage boost to make up for the slower rate of fire and maybe speed boost, possibly even jump height just for a throwback to how high you could jump in Halo 2.
And yeah that is possible, i don’t know if 343 would actually do a playlist and put aload og forge maps in, i hope they do. They keep having info about forge maps on the message of the day when you load up Halo 5 and i just sit there thinking “instead of going on how this and thats amazing, why not put them into matchmaking!?”
