Thoughts on H3 Anniversary.

I think Halo 3 Anniversary should happen in the near future. Because halo 3 still holds up today.

It’s not going to happen. If we’re lucky, maybe we’ll see something for the 20th Anniversary

TheLegendary117 I figured. 343 probably won’t anything for 20 years though. It’s probably because H3 is still open and doesn’t look half bad compared to others.

I was hoping that once we passed the anniversary date people would move on from this topic, but I guess we’ll never be rid of it.

Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary added achievements, skulls, terminals, 3D support, Kinect support, etc. to the original title. Halo 2 Anniversary brought back the game’s multiplayer to Xbox Live, added achievements to the console version, added additional skulls, and added terminals. Outside of making Halo 3 prettier, what’s there to do with it? It has everything it’d ever need.

I feel like you guys want Halo 3 Anniversary strictly because of “tradition” which isn’t a good reason to buy a game twice.

I love the idea of Halo 3 Anniversary. That game is so good just give me an excuse to play it through again lol!

Halo 3 Anniversary isn’t exactly necessary at the time. That’s what I’m saying. But it would be awesome to have one.

My bad. It was my understanding that 343 and Bungie came together. But you still get the idea.

Been nostalgic for Halo, lately. Been wanting to buy an Xbox to play H3 multiplayer and the campaigns for others. Hard to believe it’s been so long.

To OP: you’re giving mixed signals. In one sentence you say you want Halo 3A, and in the next you say the original still holds up. I think I get what you’re saying, but you may want to reword it.

To epdneo1: then just buy the original Halo 3 or the MCC.

Completely agree. However there is something Halo 3 doesn’t have that the others do… A PC port

That can be done without giving it the Anniversary treatment.

Personally, why don’t they just make an update to the MCC which gives Halo 3 some super graphically amazing cut scenes.

You just countered yourself. There are many reasons why we got Halo CEA and H2A and many reasons why we didn’t get H3A. The reasons why we got HCEA and H2A apply to Halo 3 in the opposite way.
And by that I mean that, using the obvious graphics example, while HCEA and H2A were remastered because of the graphics, H3 wasn’t remastered because of the graphics. You know what I mean?

I don’t want a Halo 3 Anniversary, but a valid point people hardly make is that its forge mode could use an overhaul. But I entirely agree, it’s needless.

I get what your saying. Halo 3 is still an amazing game.

That seems like the smart thing to do but we’re passed the chances of getting an Anniversary makeover. Maybe for the 20th Anniversary

Why not just say Halo 3 remastered edition? Then you don’t have to worry about calling it Anniversary and still get the new graphics. If you do a remaster then you would not have to worry about adding to the gameplay or adding new achievements. Your only goal is to make it look visually stunning.

Well, would you rather have a half hearted attempt at a remastered Halo 3 or would you rather wait a bit longer and get a full blown Anniversary Remaster for the 20th?

Thats a good point, personally if your going to remaster the cutscenes or even the gamplay graphics then you should be doing a good job anyway. That would be what we pay money to do so the least we should expect is a whole hearted attempt. I don’t have any problems waiting for the 20th anniversary, but what will the anniversary add besides new graphics?

Exactly. Time and effort needs to go into something like that. It can’t be rushed otherwise it’ll turn out terribly. Assuming we got a Halo 3 20th Anniversary, campaign would get a makeover and I’m sure all the multiplayer maps would as well. The biggest part of this is that it’ll be introduced to a new generation of gamers
