Thoughts on Forge Island

I for one am really happy that Forge Island is coming out, I can finally renew my Forge capabilities, they say they have new objects for this map and I’m interested to see them, and the best thing is that it’s free, but still I have a few things I’d like to see in Forge such as controlling weather, for example, Rain, snow, Sand Storms, Mist, Night time etc. and a bigger variety of objects to choose from, cause I still think bringing objects over from reach is kind of lazy, but anyways talk about things you guys would like to see in forge I’m curious to what you guys would have to say, or talk about what you like and hate about the map, me personally, Have ideas already to go

As somebody super new to Forge I’m excited to have a flat surface so I don’t have to adapt to the environment so much. I find a blank canvas a little less daunting. I’m hoping you can use Impact pieces though, I love that palette.

I think it looks really good.

Just hoping we can go near the water with out it saying “Return To Battlefield”
Or just killing me automatically… That would be annoying.

But either way it looks really nice and big and I can not wait.
It looks like a great month for Halo.

They say it has all current forge objects. I wonder if this includes the objects from landfall such as the forklift.

Forge Island looks great, the only thing it lacks are trees and rocks because without that, it looks too flat and empty.

If i hell see a Forklift, im gonna end up making a Home Depot map on Forge Island.

I think adding weather effects and things like that is something they would be willing to do if it didn’t cause lag. The Xbox 360 just isn’t powerful enough to handle all that, apparently.

I’d like to see a good number of new objects and there apparently will be some added. So, that’s good. Not sure what those objects are yet, so I look forward to finding out.

I’d like to be able to place things like trees and hills on the map. Ramps and bridges and things like that are okay, but not necessarily aesthetically pleasing, you know? I’d just like to have more things we can use to make the maps more aesthetically pleasing. I know there’s only so much they can do because of the limitations of the Xbox 360, though.

Oh, and give us the ability to add a Hornet or some kind of UNSC air vehicle to our custom maps. We need something to counter the Banshee. The Hornet was in Halo 3, so why not Halo 4? They didn’t even bring the Falcon back. No Falcon or Hornet? Not sure what they were thinking there but this would be a good time to bring at least one of those back (or a different UNSC air vehicle). I’d like to see them bring the Revenant back or even the Spectre to counter the Warthog, too. And put a gun of some kind on the Mongoose. Okay, I’m just kidding with that one.

You’ll probably be able to add your own rocks, but as I said in my previous post, I’d like to see them add the ability to add trees and hills. That seems very doable without causing lag.

play farcry 3, that game has weather effects and it’s on xbox 360

A Home Depot map…ok that I want to see and post a video here when you complete that.

Grateful, no matter how it turns out. It’s the thought that counts.

I’d like to be able to change the skybox. They should also add larger vehicles for scenery peices.

I look forward to Forge Island,I’m kinda glad to see a large surface,I’m gonna try and build a city or somthing hopfully I’ll have luck with connecting the 3 islands.

Glad to have a large flat surface and open airspace for big team vehicle maps.

Hesitant in regard to their track record with the distribution and implementation of additional content.

Trees, thats all I want. I would rather have more natural scenery objects to help with the lack of color of Forge pieces.

It’s cool that we get a flat surface, but they haven’t shown anything in terms of new pieces. I’ll believe it when I see it, but I seriously doubt there will be anything that isn’t on Ravine.

I just want someone (or 343) to make Blood Gulch & introduce it into the map rotation - I love playing that map.

“THERE IS NO ISLAND!”

On Topic: I think this will reinvigorate a lot of the forge community and further more give everyone the fun they once had back on Sandbox and Forge Mundo.

I have already thought of a Race Map…

I already have the layout plan for a half-exploded post-apocalyptic Home Depot. The working title is Demolition Depot.

I’m really liking the idea too.
I like what you said about wheather change snoe, night, day, rain, etc.
But I would also like in forge island to custimize the terrain it self
by creating bumps, hills, mountains, etc.
