Look. I know this sounds dumb but why is the soccer ball move only when a player actually runs into it? Weapons doesn’t affect it, explosions doesn’t affect it, hell I’m pretty sure melee doesn’t affect. This throws so many map ideas out the window. What happened to all the nonsense stuff you could build in previous Halos? Mini golf maps, pinball machines, or just other crazy stuff? I super appreciate the Forge as it is the best I have ever played and there is so much to do but they are super constricting themselves as far as gametypes go and other unique maps. There’s currently no Grifball (or Assault for that matter), Infection, VIP, Oddball, ect… I really want to enjoy this Forge but there’s not a whole lot to build other than Slayer maps. I’m tired of all the seriousness. I just want have fun like I did back in the days of Halo 3 and Reach (as much as I disliked that game Forge was at it’s best here).

I know forge is good and all, but I agree not being able to have fun with a soccerball sucks.
After selecting the Ball can’t you just change the “physics” setting? I thought they have normal, fixed and a bunch of other physic settings to make every object behave the way you want it to be? Is this not true?
This is somthing they really need to add in an update and soon. Forge h5 is great you can do so many things, but it lacks the fun objects. I mean how the hell are Kill balls not in the game now? kll balls can be used for sooo many differnt things to create cool game types, used in race tracks to gametypes like donky kong ect. Im sure u can kinda make one with some tricks but its not quite the same. And yes the football being immune to general physix is relly weird.
Someone said that it may be that it was ported from the campaign mission, which did not have any weapons or gravlifts to affect it, so it simply isn’t coded to respond to such actions.
You could always build obstacle courses or puzzle maps.

It’s funny to me that I’m just now coming to grips with the new forge and I finally made something I was happy with (after roughly 6 hours of growing pains).Then I drop a soccer ball in and I noticed the same thing. And even funnier there’s already a post about it. I don’t understand what the use of the ball is in it’s current form. Agreed that melee, gunfire, grenades, spartan charge should all effect it. If 343 has taken the original Bungie code and continued to modify it you would think things that were working before would continue to work. Maybe they were talking more about the guns than all the little things like this.
343 can make a few things better but when they make so many other things worse than there’s no real improvement.
I find it hilarious and amazing that this is what people are complaining about. That just means there are no ACTUAL problems with forge.
As I said before, this is still in early beta stage. Will be a while before everything is working how we want. I cant even make some of my maps because there are fairly limited objects. So for now I will just pass on forge and give it time to be updated.
Doesn’t help that xbox live is having a ton of issues at night because of the Christmas holiday.
It’s well known that there are a lot of issues with custom games and screwing around. I’m sure they’re noticing all the feedback and plan on doing something about it.

This needs to be changed, also as a side note, I havent tried this yet but can a vehicle move it? If so then not all minigame ideas are gone.
Did you set the physics to normal?
