I have not played the multiplayer yet so I will not be too critical on these weapons. I am basing this off of my expirence in the training ground. I will update this after i play the mutiplayer or delete it completly later today. Overall amazing job with the design, look, feel, sound, and handling of the weapons 343. however there are Three I have concerns about.
1 The pulse carbine. when a player is in direct line of fire of the pulse carbine it only takes 2 bursts to kill them. however i have noticed that (at least with the bots) simply moving can negate this. however i feel like the excessive damage paired with the tracking bullets is a bit overkill and is a lot like the halo 4 needler which can create problems. however if the pulse carbine is going to be a rare power weapon like the rocket launcher or sniper or skewer this shouldnt become much of an issue.
2 WHAT IN THE WORLD IS THE HEATWAVE!!! I can see what you were going for. A weapon that does larger spread damage and goes through players at the cost of individual damage and also rebounds. but oh my god is it crap for a one on one fight even with the alternate firing mode. i couldnt even get passed the second star on the training ground because it does almost no damage to individual players. (bots). cant we make it to where the alternate firing mode condenses the plasma into 1 or 3 slightly more damaging projectiles for one on one fire fights. I dont think ill ever use the heatwave in matchmaking in its current state. Like I said I HAVE NOT PLAYED THE MULTIPLAYER YET but i will later today so my thoughts are not final just general first impressions… but the heat wave really doesn’t seem like a good weapon. maybe just i dont know the trick to using it properly but still. I cant even get a 2 star on the first drill using it.
3 The plasma pistol. I really really wish you would make the plasma pistol a more utility based weapon than a straight up damage dealer. no one should be able to knock a shield with a single shot and then start spraying and mowing down health with the same weapon.
Every other weapon seems like a nicely made weapon. I really commend you for doing such a good job. And ive said it quite a few times, I have not played the multiplayer because i am still waiting on the servers. but these are my initial concerns and thoughts.
