Hello Everyone!
I am a solo SWAT player. I just recently joined a company but even so I still prefer to play solo. I know how the ranking system works now a days and it seems like it can put you at a disadvantage when you play this way. I was curious to see what anyone else’s thoughts might be on that situation. So far I have found it to not be too much of a hindrance. I was placed in mid gold when I did my placement matches, and in two days i have climbed to mid platinum. I hope that in time I can come to high diamond maybe even onyx! I guess time will tell, and even so to be considered an all around player I suppose I will have to play some regular Slayer as well. Let me know your thoughts on the subject!
Thanks!
Yes. I can confirm that this is doable. It’s been a very long time since I’ve played SWAT; so I don’t know what the population is like these days as far as getting good games.
That said, I did what you’re trying to do right now. SWAT was the only game type I played for about three or four weeks. I was grinding for Headshots (solo) in our compay’s pursuit of the Achilles helmet.
i qualified low Gold, and worked myself up to Diamond-4. If you get smart with spawn locations and positioning, I found you can help influence the game’s flow even if you’re not directly communicating with teammates.
It does get harder though. Toward the end, I was consistently facing Onyx players…some I’m sure were in parties. So I wasn’t able to progress any farther at that point. (I’m not a great player)
good luck!
I see. I have run into the same thing. Just this morning I ended up in a match against 2 onyx and 2 champions. Pretty sure they were in a party, but it was a massacre of me and my entire team who were all plat. It was still fun and I was able to see some different moves and ways of thinking then the average player. All in all it is always a learning experience. You win some and you lose some lol. I hope that I can get to Onyx at some point but without a team it will be a grind and a lot harder, just as you said lol
Appreciate the good wishes!

You are quite right. I placed onyx 1630 or something and managed to work my way up to champion.
However you have to be prepared that it will be a grind. The problem was that I very often did very very good in matches but my teammates where so mismatched with the enemy team that we lost anyways. There where a lot of matches with enemy team 2 or 3 champs and 1 onyx and my team beeing me and diamonds.
So you just got to take those matches as a practice round, keep calm and hope for a better match next time.
Good luck!
No hate to my “bad” teammates, everyone had good and bad games and they can’t be blamed for being matched against players that are much better.
I always liked swat. It can be tough to find a match if your not on at peak times.
Playing swat solo is definitely doable. I would suggest that you hold power positions on the map and keep your kd as high as possible so that you can make up for any teammates going negative.

My only issue is that I just started playing again. I hardly remember these maps let alone any power positions on the map. Over time and maybe a little help and I may be able to get that part taken care of lol.
A pain in the neck when I get terrible teammates
Dude do what you feel like doing don’t let other factors out rule your general play style.

I don’t know what it is but I’ve only been able to get into 2 games of swat this month and they were both at the beginning of this month plus they took forever to get into & now its been nada. So I’ve been playing btb once in awhile.
SWAT is pretty much the only gametype I play and seeing as none of my friends play Halo 5 anymore, I have to play solo and it’s doable.
Doable. SWAT is one of the easier playlists to get into Onyx Solo. Low population, lots of beginners, easy kills. Have fun.
Thanks for all your thoughts guys! If I catch you online at some point say hello! See you on the battlefield!
This is probably the most doable playlist to rank to reach diamond, onyx and champion ranks.
personal through, i would love a FFA swat mode ranked… would be fun and it would force player to don’t wait at one place to get kill ( you need kill to win and when you stay at one place, a lot of time you see no one)…
I haven’t done this yet myself, haven’t had the time, but it’s very doable to climb all the way up to Champ solo. Plenty of swat champs play solo most of the time and have to partially carry players from plat-champ. I can easily solo queue to onyx consistently (tested this season with 3 and almost 4 swat onyx accounts).

That’s very impressive! Gives me some hope that i can do the same with my account then! Onwards to victory right?

My only tips to you are to learn general spawns based of teammate location, and so with that you can pre-aim a little. Otherwise just make sure that your sensitivity can match your reaction time without being over the top, SWAT is about speed and position.

Most definitely! Thanks for the tips, I shall use this information wisely lol.
