There is always room for improvement.
I have a short list of ideas to how they could make it better.
Graphics is an obvious, so I’ll skip that one, because immersion is the whole point of it.
So, where to begin.
I think that both times you are able to save a fellow soldier in both Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 from Brutes, should be given more respect and have some positive feedback, whether that be through an achievement, or something that could add you later.
Basically, giving your good deeds more recognition besides just Moral justice.
Like either soldier could call up what’s left of their squad (or other available soldiers) to help, given how that’s what soldiers would do when their tank type soldiers are taking on the stronger threat for them, they’d gather reinforcements to aid their allies.
I’m not saying that’s is needed Necessarily, but it could help players whose Morals are better than their Gameplay for the first two chapters, in case they need those two chapters to prepare for going at it alone.
And given that last part, there should be an interaction with the Cowering soldier in the corner, where you can put him out of his Misery, an achievement possibly.
Something else I think could help, is give more range with how far across the map the Story will go, so you have more freedom to explore detailed areas.
Halo Reach was able to do that a little, so if Halo 3 is truly the best out of the Trilogy, it should feel like a grander landscape to explore, rather than just increase the duration of each mission.
These are just ideas to consider, given how Halo 3 was my first experience of the franchise growing up.
Let alone, the only in the Trilogy I could complete.
So these could add more range and depth to it, if they decide to factor these in to some extent.
War is a Dark thing to deal with.
And despite all your efforts, allies will die, but that doesn’t mean all your actions are pointless.
Sure, that cowering guy from the flood’s attack cannot do anything for you, but it should at least be an optional achievement to show him mercy.
And the Voice actor really sells the performance too, so any time I play it now, I always think to put him out of his misery.
Given how being infected when alive is way worse, at least he will be at peace.
Again, these are just thoughts, but I’d love to see them implemented in some capacity.
Because if you tend to walk with very little interactions to keep you focused when a vehicle isn’t always available, it can drag on a bit.
I am just saying that there could be more live ir activity between destinations, so you can feel like you’re actually in a fight, where every moment counts.
That’s all I would ask Saber to work on for a better remaster, just give it more life so you have reason to fight for these characters instead of just cutscenes.
