Thoughts for the Halo 2A Terminals

I recently read that the Terminals in Halo 2A will be focused around the Arbiter. Now, I am very disappointed because this, however, I really hope there’ll be terminals on the history of Installation 05 and 2401 Penitent Tangent, being context with the mission. Here’s my ideas for the terminals:
[/li]- Cairo Station: Shows Blue Team + Johnson arriving at Earth after the events of Halo: First Strike and being debriefed. Mainly just to tie in First Strike and Halo 2.

  • Outskirts: Back-story on Prophet of Regret coming to Earth.
  • Metropolis: Shows civilians in the city being evacuated. Kinda similar to Saddie’s Story from ODST.
  • The Arbiter: Tells some Covenant back-story.
  • The Oracle: Origins of the Forerunner Gas Mine on Threshold, as well as telling some more about the Heretics, such as why they went there (Possibly to escape the fight going on at Halo? Or to “borrow” the Forerunner Tech there?). Would also add more details to the 12th Terminal from Halo: CEA.
  • Delta Halo & Regret: Two ideas on these. A)Some stuff about the Prophet of Regret. In the mission “Regret”, would show Regret talking to the other Hierachs. B) Sheds some light on Monitor 2401 Penitent Tangent and the history of Delta Halo.
  • Sacred Icon & Quarantine Zone: Origins of the Flood outbreak on Installation 05 and how the Gravemind came to be. Also shows more history about Delta Halo.
  • Gravemind: Sheds some light on the Covenant’s history.
  • Uprising: This terminal will be all about the Great Schism.
  • High Charity: More Great Schism, and the Flood’s arrival on High Charity.
  • The Great Journey: Back-story behind the Great Schism and Installation 05.

Just my idea; really hope this is in Halo 2A. I would greatly appreciate any support and further ideas.

> Where did you read they were focused on the Arbiter?

The thread “The History of Installation 05”
https://forums.halowaypoint.com/yaf_postst248064_History-of-Installation-05.aspx
And a joystiq article (read the last paragraph)

That’s about it, however I’ll be on the hunt for more articles and stuff like that.

I don’t know where/if 343 came out and officially announced it, but the screen shot of the menu screen where you can select to watch the terminals has the Arbiter front and center.

I like the ideas you put out there, though. I really like the one about Blue Team getting back to Earth. Doesn’t need to be anything crazy, just a welcome back and their new orders so they’re finally mentioned in the games somewhere.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who was extremely disappointed by learning that the H2A terminals followed the Arbiter. Such as waste of story, if you ask me. In fact, because of this, I’m only going to get TMCC because of Nightfall.

But yes, instead of having them follow a specific character, I would have loved for it to be in context with the level. If a terminal is set in Delta Halo or Regret, it should follow where the mysterious structures game from. If a terminal is set in Sacred Icon or Quarantine Zone, it should follow how the Flood escaped from containment.

Very interesting! Thanks, by the way.

I know, man. I was all bummed out on that we’d just be following a single character we already know enough about, instead of getting terminals that were context with levels, and, eventually shedding some light on the mystery of Installation 05.

Now I don’t mind that there would be a few terminals looking into the Arbiter’s past but we need to know more things about Delta Halo.

Yes, I agree.

Thanks for the idea.

who said it would be just the Arbiter’s past. It could still show some how the arbiter met up with Locke or even what he is doing after the events in escalation. I, for one am not just yet.
