Bot Bootcamp matches affect your Social MMR
I don’t think it is healthy having social MMR tied to bot bootcamp. I think it should have its own ranking. Reason being, if I do well in a few bot matches I get worse PvP matches and it takes a few to adjust. This isn’t fun. I don’t want to have to lose several matches before it adjusts.
Warm up for ranked, stress free mode, or quick XPing?
Some players like to use bootcamp as a warm up for ranked.
Some players like to get challenges done or quickly get some XP.
I have been both grateful and super annoyed to be in matches with players who are really adept versus MARN level bots. It makes me wonder what is the point of it.
On the one hand bot matches can go really fast when all I want to do is get my daily XP and log out. Or I might not be in the mood for PvP but still want to play some Halo multiplayer.
If the reason for playing in bootcamp is to practice to get better, it isn’t fun being in a match with players who are destroying everything in sight. You can go a whole match without seeing a single opponent. You cannot learn anything from this. I suppose I could just watch something on YouTube and move my controller so I don’t get booted.
Should the bots be harder for these players? Should I even be getting matches with these players? This comes back to my first question about MMR.
