What if there was a Req that changed home screen music from the current new style to more of a classic style music when you boot up infinite? So it has more of a classic feel or sound? Or a req that changes the music in campaign to more of a classic halo 1,2 or 3 experience! I think it should already be that way with classic music but this could help out the different generations with in halo!
Another Req could be the option too change the home screen to what ever background you want classic or new style!
I think the UX changes for both sound and music are very feasible and wouldn’t be at all a bad idea! As far as having alternate scoring musically in the campaign? That sounds a lot less doable to me - not impossible, but I think that based on my knowledge (admittedly quite limited) on how game soundtracks usually work, having multiple OST’s to have to support with the proper attention (to make everything sound more or less organic and unified, despite a lot of track switching to match what’s going on in gameplay) seems at least impractical.
Also, in allowing players to use whichever classic Halo soundtrack they want in the campaign, the identity of Infinite itself is put in jeopardy. I think it’s better if 343i just tries to give us a soundtrack that speaks to either the classic games (my preference) or at least they try something new and different than the Halo 4 and 5 soundtracks, neither of which worked particularly well for me. I gladly think based on what we’ve been shown, they’re aiming at the classic sensibilities Marty set up back in the day.
