Thought this was Halo 5, not Heybro 5

Dear lord, 343. Cut down on that MLG-inspired -Yoink–chatter, will you? There are a handful of reasons why I dislike MLG, and the slang is one of them. I really do not want to hear in-game Spartans say “I got snipes.”

Yeah, that was annoying. But I still like the callout feature.

Halo being “competitive” or “MLG” is the reason the game is so popular to begin with. Their trying their best to make fans like you happy and it’s true fans that want real Halo back. But their killing Halo IMO

I haven’t played yet, but from what I’ve seen of it recently (since the Pre-Beta Beta… thing), it kills the immersion that the rest of the ‘Canon Multiplayer’ idea worked so hard to build. I cannot reasonably see Spartans, even SPARTAN-IVs, using a few of the terms I’ve heard, ‘snipes’ among them.

The fact that MLG stuff made Halo big means absolutely jack–Yoink- to me in this instance; If you’re going to sell me on a canonical combat simulator angle then play the angle. I know I’ll get over it eventually if the game itself is good, but it does irk me when I’m watching videos of it and I’m sure will continue to do so in-game for some time.

You should definitely be able to toggle it off.

I really, really hope so.

Also hope you can toggle off seeing the after-match bro-down; it just doesn’t fit with the professional, hardened supersoldier a Spartan is supposed to be.

After-match bro-down lol

Isnt for MLG fans OP… Is just for casuals.

Telling u that a Spartan is behind you is genius… so they should keep it.

in fact it’s quite the opposite, whilst Spartan II’s would be unlikely to say something like that, Spartan IV’s are just soldiers…so they are going to act soldiery. Plus it makes even more sense when you consider that in cannonising the multiplayer 343 also removed the idea that any of the Spartans have any actual fear for their life. They are just playing a game, like we are, so lax terminology is entirely appropriate.
It feels like you very much missed the point that you know it’s a hologram and they know it’s a hologram…

Since no one ever wants to talk in-game anymore, I find the call outs extremely helpful. “Enemy team has sniper!” has saved my -Yoink- multiple times already.

What little I’ve seen if the beta, up to and including the callouts/brochatter feels and looks like @$$. I’m having a hard time liking Halo: Call of Titanfall.

I don’t consider S3s and S4s true Spartans anyway. Just try hard wannabes that can’t ever touch the real thing.

I actually like the info during the game. Stopped using my mic a long time ago. People yelling profanities or blasting music is really annoying.

A) You haven’t played the game.
B) Deal with it

Honestly I came in to this game really thinking I was going to dislike it but to my surprise I actually ended up really enjoying it. The gameplay flows so well together and the callouts are extremely helpful because no other kids online talk which is extremely annoying because you need teamwork and communication in order to win. Especially when the announcer shows where and when the sniper is going to appear, which I again don’t really mind; it adds another flavor of teamwork and map control. So when I see the sniper icon disappear from the map and I ask my teammates who has the sniper without getting a response, at least I have one of the in game Spartans telling me its either my team or their team who has it. Really adds to the competitive aspect so I’m really enjoying it.

I don’t understand the point of callouts saying “I got [power weapon]” but I’ve found it very useful to find enemy players or even grenades. It has saved me a couple of times.

Hmm is it strange? Hell yes, however it does indeed seem canon like they want it to be. In case you have not noticed Spartan IVs are the “bro generation” of Spartans.

Was annoying at first then noticed it brought some real immersion in the gameplay.

Not gonna lie it’s kinda nice to see both males and females in game alike make noises other then grunts.

I like it.

I also like that term Heybro, lol Heybro 5 the return of old man didact

The callouts for the power weapons in my opinion are the one’s with the greatest impact because again if you have teammates like mine who don’t talk but do possess a power weapon, I would like to know or else I would just assume it would have fallen into enemy hands.

I agree, the dudebro mentality in this game is ridiculous. Especially the winning animations where they all start high fiving etc. They’re supposed to be sociopaths that are experimental killers wearing tank armor. Not 15 year old kids.
