What is going to be done about these kids?
You can report them if you really feel that to be the case. Otherwise, just suck it up. There’s those kinds of people among others running rampant in H5.
Just report for quitting, that’s what I do to everyone who quits matches early.
Those people will learn that it’s a pointless endeavor. You can only fool the Halo 5 ranking system so much. If you are for example, a mid Platinum player, and by intentionally losing placements or games, you make it all the way to Silver 6/Gold 1, you will still face mid Plat with the occasional Diamond player. Either that or it will place you with the other fake Golds. It may differ for new accounts (probably does, never tried it), but high SR players are basically in a box. I’m assuming it’s due to several season’s of stats collected by the game and it knows your skill. As much as we complain about MM, 343 has done pretty well. You have to TRY to game the system and simply losing 10 placements won’t impact very much. Once you start wrecking people again it will start matching you accordingly.
I have a couple of things to say here.
First, I try so little in placement matches that you might well think I was one of “those people” you’re talking about. But the truth is that I try very little in any match, placement or otherwise.
Second, I have playlists where (with a history of low rank from previous seasons) my “tanked” qualifiers got me yet more bronze rankings. Playlists I’ve never ranked in before (swat and breakout) earned me gold rankings even though I “performed” as I always do, which is to say not at all. What any of that says about the inner workings of H5 ranks I could not say, but what it says about the integrity of the system over all is a lot. A lot of bad.
Lastly, I’m not gonna feel too guilty about semi-purposefully tanking matches because, again, it isn’t done with the idea of getting easy matches after the qualifiers. For a player as lazy (and as bad) as I am there are no easy matches at any time in any playlist. The fact that my ranks never go up after the qualifiers, that they only go down, pretty much says it all.
So don’t assume that everyone who seems like they’re not really there is throwing matches on purpose or trying to cheat the system. Just because a game is competitive doesn’t mean that it will only attract competitive people. And don’t assume that non-competitive types will “naturally” gravitate to social playlists or warzone. Some people want to play 4v4 and to do that in H5 you’re on a rank ladder whether ranks themselves interest you or not.
Report them that’s your best option
This is a moot thread because i lost 9/10 placement matches and got plat 4.
I still have yet to meet these people.
If this is true, one thing I don’t understand is why people even do it. What’s the point?
