Those Skirmishers

Has anyone tried Skirmigeddon?
I know this is a stupid question but I wanted to get other people’s thoughts on it.
It’s a good way to get your aim up, don’t you think?

I usually keep my aim at head level… and just move it left or right according to where the Skirmisher is running around me.

That gametype is a lesson in “FIND A HOLE. STAY THERE.”

The game type isn’t too hard, the best advice is to make sure you do not get surrounded and to prioritize the enemies that spawn with needle and focus rifles.

That’s usually what I do,
Also a good strategy, pick up a plasma pistol for the Murmillos, overcharge and head shot/melee usually does it for me, though I suppose it depends on what you prefer personally.
Also, I think I found out by using this game type that the Needle Rifle is just a bit more pinpoint than the DMR, any truth to that?
Also, Focus Rifle Skirmishers/Jackals are the most annoying thing in the game, next to Focus Rifle Rangers, I think it’s a tie between them.

The needle rifle does start off being more accurate then then DMR I believe.

I agree with a precision weapon/pistol for up close combat with them. Remember this, they are pirates, shady little pirates and whenever they can get behind you, they will. Answer for effective fighting, don’t let them get behind you.

120 kills 120 headshots i would say so

Hell no.

I tried it once.

Never again.

Want my opinion on Skirmigeddon…it sucks…played it and it was a complete nightmare. The SOB r too fast even trying to pull a headshot and i end up missing. I hate those skirmif*&kers.

I hate those little sons of (insert foul language here) in regular FF and you’re talking about actually playing a whole game with them?!

Nah jus messing, lol. The few times I did do Skirmiggedon I just posted up in the hallway with the ammo crate on Holdout. Shotty Magnum combo for the win. Headshots and Shotty to the bodies when I got swarmed.

Haha, Yeah, that was my first reaction too.
But once I started playing it more, my DMR accuracy saw a pretty sharp increase, good way to hone your skills if you’re persistent.

I have dubbed Skirmishers ‘Ballerinas from Hell’.

Oh god, now all I can think about is Champion Skirmishers in Pirate hats and eye patches.
Although, I love the challenge of tracking them, it’s like Halo:Reach needed to substitute the Flood with something else, and Skirmishers were their best pick for it.
(In terms of jump-height, ferocity, numbers)

I play this all the time and the best strategy is holing next to an ammo crate. Choose Hologram, and keep the reticle around head level, scoping isn’t usually necessary unless you want to spawn kill them when the new wave appears. This is usually the easiest to do on Installation 04 if you take the warthog to the rear of the map where the ammo crate is on the far side and block it off with the hog and pick them off. I usually like to keep one of their needle rifles around in case they swarm and the hog has been pushed back because all covenant except for hunters dodge needle fire. This constant dodging can give you time to get your shields back up. I play this gametype all the time and rarely die. Playing it on waterfront is NOT a good idea.

I usually just hang back in the spawn area with my DMR with Evade, I sometimes move up if I’m feeling a little crazy, and sometimes I just roam the map with my DMR like a hunter, picking off small squads and sometimes giant groups of 'em at once.
It’s not a good way to do it if you want to rank up fast or get a good score, but it’s a hell of a lot of fun.

Best map i have played this on is on Courtyard, not many issues on that map.

actually FF ArcadeNEP feels like Skirmigeddon from Round 2

When Bungie first implemented it, it was literally insane.

When 343i took control of it, they made it a bit less aggravating and absurd.

My first time playing it (when Bungie implemented it), I lost all of my lives but was able to finish the match with my last life. I didn’t want to touch it again. Those Needle Rifle Skirmishers shot their rifles as if they were fully automatic rather than semi-automatic.

When 343i took over, I lost 0 lives. It was far easier.

Big difference, IMO.

Ha, I remember that,
I played it once and got 9 of my lives wiped out before the end of the 2nd wave, it was the most brutal thing I’ve ever played that was Halo-related.
Such a pesky species of jackal.

Great way to increase your Specialist/Precision weapons/Headshots commendations

Although on the multiplayer firefight, when it lags… skirmishers are near impossible to kill
