Well regarding the store it is a real possibility that they have reviewed the data and feedback and seen that selling reach armor in the store was a terrible idea. Not as many people are buying it and it’s -Yoink!- a lot of players off- things like cat ears, some tenrai gear, things that are more out there are much more well received in the store. They already made a quick adjustment to the winter event and tenrai- so it’s very possible they are working that out as well and holding new bundles from release as they figure out what to give for free and how.
With regard to the weekly challenge… it’s a fine line of being too cool and complete poop. If they make it too cool you’ll incite -Yoink!- of FOMO tactics, forcing challenge swap purchases, challenges forcing players to play things they don’t want. The challenge system was torn apart at launch and it still is poop but it’s been bandaided. It’s really best that they sit on the lame (pre planned) rewards until they take a whole rework. I agree the ultimate rewards are trash but hey I’d rather them work on fixing the game and adding real content than messing with cosmetics and progression.
Call me optimistic but that’s my thought. I don’t really even care about that stuff. I just want no cross platform, fix lag, and new maps
I dont see why they dont look to someone like Rare, a company that has season passes, online shops for cosmetics etc and ask them for advice / copy them.
I like the whole thing of buying a whole set of items or buying individual things items from that set and using real money rather than trying to cinfuse things with “Credits” only.
And you can earn the special currency in game on SoT.
343 had plenty of examples of what works and what doesn’t work on a live service game. This is there first shot a real live service game and somehow I feel like they didn’t even really look too deep into it.
They just skimmed a few examples and went with it.
But than again, most of the team that worked on Halo Infinite were temp staff, so I think this game suffered from alot of Internal miscommunications and such they had to basically duck tape the game together.
This can be seen with how delicate the netcode and over game code is. They move one thing and a whole game mode crashes
Yup. Which is just absolutely inexcusable for a game with this size of a budget. To mismanage a game and resources to this extent is actually impressively pathetic.
You know I suspect they purposely didn’t add the feature of earning credits in game, for 4th quarter sales report reasons.
They wanted to artificially pad those numbers. Obviously if the primary option to get cosmetics in game is through store purchases, they will only allow you to use real money to earn the in game currency.
Once that report is in and available, I think we will see 343 magically come out with a announcement that they will add a earn in game credit formula update.
Honestly I have up on content when I realized we had 60 default colors on Halo 5, 36 default colors in previous halos.
And 343 just went let’s only give them 10… And paywall the rest of the default colors.
Honestly they could have at least given us challenges to unlock the other 50 default colors for each armor core/Weapon/ and Vehicle… kinda like COD does with their guns. And unlocking all colors for each core/weapon/vehicle grants you a specific unlock… and when you max all of them out you get something else.
Hell they could have even just copied the progression from Reach and made each rank unlocks that emblem with other unlocks at each major significant rank with the final three unlocking some sweet stuff. Like the ghost helmet.
But they decided to just sell us the colors, they really seem desperate for money of they resorted to selling players basic default colors
This is just a service at this point, but it’s definitely not live or living. Feels like a static multiplayer mode that was made to come with a $60 game, but was stripped away at the buzzer and called something else.
