343 has until Wednesday before they miss their “Late August” co-op target. So if they arne’t releasing by Wednesday, I can only hope they include a new target before August is officially over. Its one thing if they miss the target. Its another when it seems like they don’t even acknowledge it after they already missed it.

I think we will likely end up with some kind of disappointment sandwich as far as Halo Infinite is concerned. If Campaign Co-Op was ready to launch this week, they surely would have made such an announcement last week. Not to mention that this also includes Mission Replay. AND the Co-Op is only for online co-op, no splitscreen, either on Xbox or PC.
It’s probably why they made that announcement for MCC. They probably hoped that MCC would be enough to hold us over until their new release date.

Much as it pains me to say it, I think the general consensus I have to agree with is that a further delay to launch would have been a good idea.

I have to agree with what some other folks already said above…
The time for make or break was when the first road map came out, after delays and delays and delays. It broke. The player population left, and if they get even a fraction of it back, it will be over weeks and months, not in a single day with a new update.
To add on to Meta Chief’s question - what do y’all think it would take to “make” Infinite now?
For me, the bare minimum won’t cut it, and the bare minimum is “co-op out next week, forge in november, at least 2 new weapons in november with the new season, at least two new vehicles.”
I’m doubtful that we’ll even get that, but for me that wouldn’t cut it anyways. Where’s the campaign at? That’s my biggest priority. When will it be updated? Will there be new biomes? Will the copy pasted objectives etc. be updated and improved? Will they add to the open world or make a new one? Will they at all upgrade or improve the current campaign world? When will we get a significant expansion?
A few weeks ago I started a campaign again after reading Rubicon Protocol and was interested but lost interest during the Pelican Down sequence and haven’t returned. I’ve left Infinite installed for when updates come out, but if there isn’t anything coming to the campaign this year, I’ll delete it until something does come.
This is the first Halo campaign I haven’t bought. I’ve been playing on a game pass trial and considering buying it, but I would only drop the money for it, if it was guaranteed to be updated. There’s no way I’m dropping $60 for what came out in November.
Hope they’ve got a real ace up their sleeve for the old fans.

Dont feel too bad, we waited a long long time for it to be delayed.
A question we will probably never know the answer to is what infinite was before it got delayed.

Welp, I’m hardly surprised at this point. 
I knew some -Yoink!- would happen. If DL2 happens to drop a few more updates I might as well play that for a bit.
I really only came back just to spend some time dusting up on my skills should the multiplayer experience improve. Don’t want to be caught with my pants down.
Expectations reserved for now.
Really hoping someone at 343 would be willing to converse with me on the aiming situation and how that’s been going; I’ve already heard so much about other stuff. I really just want to hear about that for a change.
The difference is the team that made MCC great were actual Halo fans, the Infinite team seems to be corporate whipping bois.
Forge actually looks interesting if turns out to be as functional as it seemingly is based off of the maps people have been showcasing on youtube.

Someone already made a pretty solid recreation of a Halo 3 map from the ground up.
I wonder if they’d consider making maps official that are created by people in forge… I just hope they get a working Customs Game Browser in ASAP so it’ll be easier to find custom created content easier.

The halo infinite team was largely completed by people hired via a temp agency. 343 has very few actual full time employees. If you don’t believe me, start looking up the names of the companies they list in the campaign credits. It’s basically microsoft game studios (343), certain affinity, and a bunch of temp agencies.
It is unknown if any temps were given full time employment and if any are still there from pre release development.
Probably never. There has never been any campaign DLC for Halo. It’s possible they start now by doing some of the things you suggest. But that would be over a year from now if it’s even planned at all.
Seems like it’s a few years out at this point.
