I mean, people have waited since xb1 has been released for this saga to continue, and the build up as of late has been excruciating. The pod cast, the merchandise, the hype… this will be the biggest of one of two things. Either one of THE BEST games ever, or the BIGGEST hype IMHO since the advent of gaming. I have faith though, I thought h4 was good (I know what others feel, but it was fun) so of 343 can do it again, we will rejoice, and anxiously await 343’s next masterpiece. Or at least I will, cannot speak for the masses.
Sadly, I can’t consider it the best Halo ever due to the sheer number of features that were hacked off. But depending on how their post launch support and DLC go then it could turn out to be the best.
Still pumped though.
Time will show its going to be the best, I have faith, and I’m sure there plenty of content to keep us all until the missing bits get bolted on.
I liked H4, yeah it wasnt quite Halo: Reach (best game in the series so far) but when I’m playing MCC Halo 4 is the engine of choice 3/4 games (maybe coz I play too much SWAT) XD
Best Halo ever could be difficult but I feel that it could definitely be close if it delivers on the promises and hype.

And that hype is sooooo inflated party from the just mention of title, but thru the fanbase, but mostly Microsoft or and marketimg. I know its going to be savage, just don’t want to wait any longer…
this one will bring back halo to the top. I am 100% sure. halo reach started off messing up the series because they didnt have a real ranking system…and multiplayer experience is what halo is all about! than halo 4 continued on this path…so stupid. halo 4 basically is destiny crucible (no ranking system, loadouts that give certain players advantage and stop teamwork). if the only thing to do in destiny was to do the campaign and than do crucible, destiny would have tanked just as fast! so of course halo 4 tanked…it shouldnt even be called halo!
with the return of a competitive ranking system…get ready to be addicted again. this is pretty much the first time since halo 2 we had this. (most people got to 50 in halo 3…it was stupid, which is hwy i quit halo 3 after a month of release after i got to 50 and got bored)
the reason call of duty gets away with multiplayer is because they made there multiplayer addicting by having to rank up to get better weapons like an MMO.
You gotta have the multiplayer experience to keep people around! you cant expect to just put out a game and have people stay around just because its fun…look at league of legends for example…those people have played the same boring map / gametype for years and its still the most played game in the world because it has both a ladder and requires you to grind to unlock new characters. (so both examples of multiplayer experiences i listed above)
Sorry for my rant…i jsut feel like having a ranking system/ competitive ladder should be game development 101 and yet every1 is fading away from it and it makes me mad. especially when they did it in halo…i didnt even buy reach or halo 4 because of this and i knew it would tank instantly. You got to have something to work for!
Halo 5 will have a ranking system for arena…and warzone which will have a ranking system to unlock new weapons. This is why it will easily be the most played game for a long time. (as long as it is 100% working at launch unlike mcc)
Its gonna be just as good as the old halo 2 days. I’m tell you its doing to be a all time great game. Its going to put halo on the map again. Cant wait for it and even if other disagree im still going to have a blast playing it.
I think 343 knows how much is riding on a successful launch. I’m not worried at all.
Despite the fact that they have cut off some of the main features I do have faith, yeah.
I don’t consider it the best Halo ever because too many things are missing for that. Hopefully it’s good though, I don’t want Halo to die.
I have faith that the game will succeed. The fact that they are implementing a League/Ranked system that is similar to most of the top played games (LoL, Smite, etc.) is the reason I am coming back to play. I started back in Halo 3, and it implemented the 1-50 system. If it was not for a constant need to reach 50, I probably would have stopped playing. I think that re-introducing the ranking system in such a way will definitely provide longevity to the Multiplayer Experience.
The only thing that I am hoping is that Team Doubles gets introduced quickly, and that it is a League/Ranked playlist. If this doesn’t happen then I will be disappointed and most likely stop playing and move back to the PC shortly after.
It’s a little early to determine if it will be the best Halo yet, or even one of the best, for that matter. That kind of careful scrutiny would have to come months, maybe a year or two after launch. That’s the only true way to evaluate its legacy. With that being said, I think 343 is doing almost everything right with this entry and I personally feel that this could be their Halo 2. Halo 2 was met with a lot of skepticism prior to release from fans who adored Halo: CE, but despite its uneven campaign and abrupt ending, Halo 2 is still considered to be the best in the franchise by many.
In summary, I certainly think that Halo 5 has the potential to be one of the best, but it may take some time to see that. I think that the “it’s launching without much content” is a garbage argument as well. This is the most graphically intensive game yet with a massive campaign which is supposed to be far larger than any before it. Then, factor in the large selection of maps and multiplayer content plus the promised post-launch support/updates/DLC, this game will keep the Halo faithful busy for quite some time.

I think 343i is doing this game right by taking their time. Releasing it section by section, slowly adding to the game to make sure no major bugs arise. You are right if they -Yoink- up this time, a lot of people will put their hands up and never play Halo again.
Side stepping the millions of opinions on gameplay and mechanics, etc…considering the partnerships they’ve made and what they’re doing to support the eSports side of Halo, this game will DEFINITELY have more longevity than Reach or Halo 4 had by miles and miles. So on that front, it will be the best Halo since Halo 3 no doubt.
And we are getiing 15 missions which is more than Halo 2!
