This still isnt fixed..

Playin some BTB and some guy is running around betraying people for a single point in 1 Bomb, he kills 3 or 4 teammates and nothing so i kill him and im booted before his body hits the floor.

How can this still not be fixed?

What I think needs to happen is that an accumulative betrayal system, something similar to the quit ban. You betray X amount of times in X amount of games and you get a 10 minute ban.

If I could pick one problem to fix with Reach, it’d be the betrayal booting system. Everything else at least had some rationale for being there: bloom, quit bans, bleedthrough, credit caps…

The current betrayal booting system has no structure, is impossible to predict, and its current implementation can’t possibly be justified or rationalized by the playlist engineers as “fair.”

Agreed, OP. Wish it would be fixed, but it likely won’t.

Sounds pretty rational. They should keep track of past betrayal history as well. If your record says you betray more than usual then your bans should be longer than normal. Also if you betray just once after record indicates your an avid betrayer, then you should be booted right away after a betrayal!

bad thing is there’s people who know how to boot other people by tricking the game into thinking that “They” were betrayed even though the so called guilty betrayer is innocent! That needs to be fixed quickly.

Bungie screwed it up pretty bad, I’ve been betrayed 3 times in one match, we kill him and he boots us.

What’s funny is that players were called crazy when this issue was in its early stages of discovery. I really don’t know when it became acceptable to betray teammates for weapons, or vehicles. I contribute this to ignorance and imaturity. I say they turn off friendly fire until people actually learn how the play the game right. I hardly ever betray. In almost 16,000 kills, I have like 250 betrayals, and 80% of those are from the classic grifball lag. I think keeping track of betrayals is also a very good idea.

A way to keep track of betrayals would work, but to what extent?

When one guy is intentionally messing with people to provoke them into betraying them, how does this guy get punished for it?

Once your betrayals hit a certain amount, and you become banned, how would it work for accidental betrayals? Say I’m sniping and a guy walks in front of my scope just as I pull the trigger and kill him because he was running to cover for his shields to recharge, would he get the option to boot me? Or does he get reprimanded for not walking behind me instead?

Accidental betrayals have to be factored in this too.

The answer is simple. 3 betrayals = boot option, instead of this randomly popping up crap.
