Direct Air focus firing the terminus and taking it down within 15 seconds of the wave being announced (or… uh. not announced, in my case, due to an audio bug) should not be a thing. Straight up. Direct Air needs a serious nerf, reduction in unit spawn #'s, or just SOME KIND OF CHANGE. Seriously. Make them destroy our bases first! Or minibases! Give them a special low %health modifier! Idfc just do SOMETHING.
I had all my wolves ready. All frickin TWENTY of them. Twenty! Thats 60 pop! The banshees just cruised past and destroyed the terminus without a problem. And we had spires up still too!
I’m gonna edit this with a link to what happened when its done uploading, I really don’t understand how I possibly could have done anything better aside from saving up Serina’s LP’s like Cyro bomb, Cyro storm, blah blah. Thats not a sustainable strategy tho anyways. It also would not have stopped the Terminus being destroyed.

Apologies for the rant. Things like this in video games- mechanics/things that are game-enders that also have no counters- are the ONLY things that truly frustrate me to the point I just don’t feel like playing anymore. Its cheap, and it isn’t fun.
Warden Eternals. Jackals in H2. Underground worms in the Unhallowed set dungeon in Diablo 3. Bastion in Uprising missions on Overwatch. And honestly? Serina’s Cyro bomb in PvP. (that one doesn’t count much tho since many leader powers are broken in their own ways)
My vote, just remove direct air waves entirely they’re cheap and unfun. When you see a later unsc direct air you just know it’s going to be nothing but vultures, bye bye terminus.
It does make me have bit of a chuckle though, when people complain about air spam sniping bases, this is precisely what they are talking about direct air in pvp!

God, I wish they’d do that but I never get my hopes up anymore.
Direct Air pretty well the round the directly ruins TFF. Nothing like surviving 90 rounds on Legendary just to lose to a BS round that shouldn’t exist. Direct Air goes against the entire idea of TFF, but ohhhhh well.
Anyways, when we used to play TFF a lot, we always had our artillery player (Anders) make a bunch of Nightingales on defense. Use the Gales to continuously smoke the the Terminus, and the AA player (we used Ship for this) rolls up and wipes out the idle air units.
We also had a fiend that would play Yap, and would use the Stun ability on the Heavy Grunts to stun the air, buying us more time. Not the best solution, but it worked okay.
Those are the only two statgies I’m aware of to deal with direct air. I stopped playing TFF a while ago mainly because of Direct Air, I really hope it’s just removed.

This is the one and only time that air is OP, lol.
You can cloak the terminus even easier now then before because shrouds along with nightingales can cloak it. That should help a little bit with direct air.
But I understand, the direct air wave is kinda dumb. Like in the later waves a whole bunch of wolverines(20 in this case) don’t stand up to the banshee spam in time. Even when fully upgraded. I vote to keep it in and just nerf the health of the banshees substantially.
