This review is very accurate

Video review YouTube
i reccomend this video highly.

Thx for correcting me other player I just woke up after 4 hours sleep

What is the point of this? That video is terrible and it’s nothing but whining.

I disagree. He mentions the absence of both Forge (due in a few weeks, in December) and split-screen - both elements that were know to be absent from launch.

The reason for split-screen being removed has been known for months and discussed back and forth on here no end.

It seems to me that Angry Joe is trying to drum up followers and clicks by giving reasons to ā€œhateā€ Halo 5 for reasons that were already known.

To paraphrase your goodself:

I cannot recommend this video.

Explain how war zone is not pay to win. Explain why it’s good you don’t get any of those at armors from skulls or Intel or completion… Random rng card packs

Angry Joe is dead on I hate to say it but he is

As I’ve not played any of the MP content I do not know what it is like, so cannot really state why Warzone is not pat to win.

What I can say is that I recall 343i saying that one of the functions of the Req system was to pay for DLC and to fund the eSports prize fund. Also that Req packs may be ā€œpurchasedā€ in game with Darby Req points…

I have little to no interest in eSports, but I’m aware that a large number of people do enjoy it and take part.

How can something be pay to win, when the items to be purchased can be unlocked in game anyway?

I disagree, but that’s my opinion. Much as him being dead on target is yours.

-42 wins
-22 losses
-66% win percentage
-0 REQ packs bought

Is that enough?

Warzone is not pay to win because its RNG. You said so yourself. Paying money is the same odds as unlocking packs. And chances are, if you are buying packs, you’re simply not good enough to earn packs. Meaning you arent good enough to gain the REQ level to get that weapon anyway.

Angry Joe would’ve been spot on with his review 8 months ago. Before 343 outlined a clear plan of what was in Halo 5, what wasnt, and when it was all coming. Trashing splitscreen and Forge is laughable. Forgers are more than happy with what they are getting in 2 months. Splitscreen was debated and talked about for weeks before the game. Its like saying that all past CoD games are terrible because there was no map editor, but WaW had a map editor on PC.

He is, like a lot of other Halo fans out there, trying to drum up followers by appealing to the negative part of our fanbase,

All i have to say is, thank god for RUL.

When did we start reviewing games on a basis of what is in other games, on other platforms, with other tech?

I find most of those dismissing Joe’s critique of Halo 5 are doing so on very shallow reasoning.

Sure, he get’s enraged easily but that’s the persona he has created for his channel. Most of his points are fairly spot on and we need more people calling out 343 on their lackluster campaign.

Here is what I think are some of the Fair Points of this review:

1. Lack of splitscreen
The prioritization of other features over a common staple of the franchise shows a somewhat insulting disregard for the fans that help made Halo what it is. It also smacks of an insidious attempt to get people to buy extra hardware, online subscriptions and copies just so they can play with their friends or at least coerce those who have not made the leap to the current gen.
For a company that can throw massive fund into its marketing and development, it also seems really stingy to cut features on the basis that not that many people use it.

2. The marketing
It’s quite clear that the marketing for this game was intended to sell a game that they didn’t intend to deliver. Marketing builds hype and can increase sales but if it is used solely for that purpose then how can Fan’s have faith that a developer is striving to deliver a quality experience that is fun?
Most of the Marketing for Halo 5 was bogus misdirection and a pointless attempt at creating mystery for situations that didn’t exist
Maybe relocate some of that marketing budget into the actual game 343.

3.Lackluster Campaign
Short length, very few or uninspired additions to the enemies, Boring main characters, recycled bosses, Absent set-up and backstory within the game.
Who thought this was an excellent combination? Joe is absolutely right about avoiding the lower difficulties.

Most of my complaints lie with the single player as that’s all I care about at this point and I sincerely hope that 343 hears a large request from fans to improve upon it for Halo 6. Otherwise if all we keep seeing is these kneejerk defenses against any critique of the game based solely on whether we like a youtuber or not then we can expect more of the same.

It doesn’t matter WHY splitscreen isn’t in the game, or that it was announced well in advance.

All that matters is the fact that splitscreen isn’t in the game, so it’s going to automatically dock a few points off the game’s rating for a lot of people.

Should’ve seen his stream. He was bashing the game from the Get go. It so crazy. And then he was having his mods band people who were trying to defend or inform him in chat about the game. And he was getting so many tips and donations from PS fanboys who were enjoying him bashing the game. He easily made 6K plus easy during the stream. Going on about ā€œpay to winā€ and ā€œlack of split-screen.ā€

I know for a fact it isn’t pay to win, I haven’t spent a dine and I have so many scorpions and power weapons from unlocking silver req packs from playing, that I can’t hopelessly burn through all of them before I get refreshed from req packs from playing, leveling up, and using Req points.

Exactly this. RUL will at least talk about the good and bad without just trying to stir up commotion.
