First time playing Halo 5 and it ranks me a gold 6 with a 70% win ratio and 2.13 KD? Are you serious right now?
Maybe you got these stats while playing agains’t big noobs and then got destroyed by higher ranked people?
Maybe you could also grind a bit more if you are so good. Pretty sure you’ll be at Champion in 2 days.
It’s okay, the ranking system is broken in another way! It helps you climb, and prevents you from going lower. You’re at Gold 6, but that’s the lowest you’ll ever get.

This ranking system is not very generous with the initial rank for the season. You’ll keep moving up as long as you keep winning.
I do agree that the ranking system isn’t good though. It doesn’t seem to care about anything other than winning. You can have the best stats in the game and still rank down if your team lost. Or you could get 0 kills and 20 deaths and still rank up if your team won.

Nope, was playing platinums and daimonds even a few onxys, I went negative one game, and then the other two games I lost because its was a 3 v 4 or bad random

As far as I know level has nothing to do with what rank you get.

I’m Plat in solo slayer/team arena, but regularly get matched against Onyx and Diamond (well, before I started playing FF like it was my job…)
Funny thing is there isn’t much of a skill gap. The Onyx guy is just as likely to go negative and finish last on the team, while me or any given Plat will carry the day.
Of course there are legit great players, and terrible ones, but for a large part of the population, rank is all about that grind vs. any true measure of skill.

i didn’t play much arena until after they made it harder to place in a high league to start. You’re right. The ranking system is trash.
My personal favorite is the season I had three number 1 finishes in breakout and an 87% win rate and still place silver 6. Meanwhile, everyone I played with during placement got low platinum ranks. Just stupid.
This rank system is the worst of any halo yet.
