I like this game, and I don’t complain much even though I disagree with alot, but maybe take this into consideration for the halo veterans that know what halo is all about.
I have a theory that can fix the teamwork in the next game to come, and dedication to winning.
The ranking system, I believe this is why halo 3 was so successful with teamwork and crucial it was for you and your team to win. You could NOT rank up in halo 3 unless you WON matches, each win was worth 1 exp.
This type of system forces players to want to win (to have to win) and to increase your chances of winning, you bought a mic.
Also I believe this is why social and ranked worked so well. In halo 3 when you first jump on, social was your warm up game so you weren’t penalized after a loss, and it didn’t really matter. You also couldn’t rank up after a certain number of social exp, forcing the competitive players to move into ranked so that the playlists and skill based levels were more matched.
I wrote this up quick so I’m sure I left alot out. Just a thought, reply and tell me what you think especially if you’re a halo veteran like myself.
It’s not a bad idea, and may actually make “social playlists” you know, social. But I feel like it quickly becomes 343 vs. Bungie and the differences in how each created and ran the game, so don’t think it will change.

Why is that a bad reaction though? Both of these developers have great ideas, and though one has left the ship for another show, it doesn’t mean what was done in the past isn’t relative. I think 343i has made a horrible mistake in trying to make people forget Bungie, instead of celebrating what the previous studio did.
But you can only rank up in h5 by “winning”, nothing else will rank you up. It also obviously will require teamwork to get the W unless you like to keep going up and down all day in your bracket.

I agree with this. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. It’s pointless to reinvent the wheel just so you can say “It’s my wheel now.”
Right now, in both ranked and social, you can only rank up from winning matches as well.

I think he means SR rank not stone-jewelry-type ranking.

It’s sad that so much of a good thing has come under fire because a new studio was convicted on making things better. Sometimes, if it ain’t broke…ya know.
Then people will be farming for wins just to rank up. Halo 5’s system is fine, it could just use some military ranks. Also, why is this only for veterans?

Exactly.
I always find it funny how people confuse the SR Rank as actual Rank. All it shows is how much you play. Where Ranked Play shows your actual skill from Tin - Onyx
The only way to rank up in Ranked Multiplayer is to win. Plain and simple.
The funny thing is, the Halo 5 Ranking system is just like that of. HALO Reach. You had a SR Rank (Though it used Military system) and you had Ranked system that reset every season that went from Tin - Onyx.
TL;DR So all in all. Halo 5’s ranking system = Halo Reach’s ranking system.
i think that you should still have an overall trank that onl;y goes up when you win, and then have a competitive rank that only goes up when you win and goes down when you lose.

I’m dint wanna start any arguments like I said I enjoy this game I just think if the ranking system was more like halo 3 maybe people would come together more, and if the Sr rank came from winning and losing I’d like that more ao, because in this came an SR rank of 145 can be a total scrub, where as if you were up against a 5 star general in halo 3, most of the time you got spanked. I just liked it more and I wonder if it would change things. That’s all

I like the game but it was just a suggestion. A theiry. But it’s not ONLY for veterans I just figured this post would make more sense to the players who put alot of time into halo 3 because they’ll know what I’m talking about in terms of the ranking system and what not. But like I said I enjoy this game, it’s only I theory

The theory was changing the system similar to halo 3’s because communication seemed more important to people back than. It’s so rare to find a player who will speak in this game. And I mean SR rank, in halo 3 your overall rank went up and down due to win/loss. In h5 alot of people don’t care about the seasonal rank when atleast one on that team does, but can’t get a w because nobody speaks on his team, and some people don’t care about the seasonal ranks. I don’t wanna argue I was just curious if it would work. There’s a reason halo 3’s multilayer was so successful
This is the answer. I’m sick of people who say - chill out, play for fun or people who don’t bother for objectives like strongholds or flags and just farming easy kills.
As a casual gamer I do have trouble understanding where competitive players are coming from with this kind of thing… At least with the intensity in which they say it.
But I do agree that it would be good for there to be more emphasis on teamwork. I’ll usually just play WZ or WZFF, I just like enjoying casual, but I’ll play as a team player as much as I can. That’s an element of the game that makes it more socially casual and fun, it’s just a shame that so few play like that as well.
