Background: On November 3, 2015, 343 Industries released a poll to consider gametypes for the next playlist expected to be available on November 7, 2015. The poll consisted of 3 options: won with 61% is Shotty Snipers, next was Capture the Flag, then Strongholds.

Problems: Four.

  • Initial reaction: This is great for the Team Snipers community, but who wants these? - Secondary reaction: Why weren’t these already in their own playlists? - Tertiary reaction: Who wants to choose between their favorite children? - Final reaction: Why aren’t we voting for things like Infection, Oddball and Big Team Battle?Solution: All of these reactions are warranted, considering the lack thereof content. Non-conclusive.

The Halo community deserves democracy. People want to vote for what they want, not who they want. If you give people what they want, the shepherds will migrate and your work will thrive. Fans will flock from the sinking MCC and will play custom games all day, just like Halo 3 and Halo: Reach. You will sink in their success before yours, and all will be well. But no, 343, it’s not what you deserve.

We want gametypes that are fun.

I agree, but I think the reason Shotty snipers is winning is because we already have CTF and strongholds in matchmaking. They’re terrible choices, but might as well choose the one we don’t have yet.

I agree, It’s rigged not because the lack of playlist options, but because there is only one new option. I think it’s a bit obvious people are going to choose shotty snipers since the others can already be experienced
