…but at it’s current state, it’s utterly broken. There’s just no debating it.
But that doesn’t mean it can’t be fixed. In fact, there are barley any problems. It’s just that the few problems that this game has, are very big ones at that. Hopefully, you all will understand what i’m getting at because i’m awful at making threads like this 
Let me explain…
The DMR: Easily the biggest problem of all in this game. I made a thread awhile back about how it ruined the balance of multiplayer and I still stand by that.
The balance in this game is great so far other than, of course, the DMR and Boltshot. Everything works as intended. YES, including the BR. People constantly claim the BR is underpowered when it’s actually quite great. It’s fire rate is faster than ever before. Both when you can shoot again, and how fast the bullets come out. It works as intended. If it was buffed to 4-shot, it would be more OP than the DMR is at the moment. This Halo is focused on balance. Stop asking for an overpowered BR.
Now, back to the DMR, the issue with this is that it beats all weapons in their intended situations exactly where it shouldn’t. It’s a long range weapon, meant to be effective MAINLY at long range. Yet, here it is, winning close range fights against the BR and Carbine and even the AR and the other auto-matic weapons most of the time.
The balance should be:
Long Range: Lightrifle and DMR.
Medium Range: BR and Carbine
Close Range: AR, Storm Rifle, and Suppressor.
Yet the DMR is more effetive than the other weapons in all those situations most of the time. Now, why is that?
First off, it has the fastest kill time of all the weapons, not counting the Light Rifle scoped. It also, has much more range than all of the other primary weapons, which is fine seeing how it’s a LONG RANGE weapon. But something with THAT much range, should not be winning 90% of battles at close range and medium range. Granted, it should be able to fight back at medium range, but it shouldn’t be winning almost all the time. The light rifle proves itself as a long range weapon as it was intended, and can still fight back quite at medium range due to it not having as much range as the DMR, but the LR still works mostly at it’s intended range, and is less effective at closer ranges. That’s how the DMR should be.
You need to hit less with the DMR. You only need 5 shots, with a fast fire rate with that matter, to take any enemy out. While the Carbine, even though it shoots fast, takes 8 or 9 (I forgot which one :P). Then the BR takes 13 bullets to kill. It’s ot difficult at all to land all the shots with the DMR, where it is with all the other weapons. Not for me, nor most who use the DMR. It’s really just very easy to use. Using any other weapon is almost pointless when there is at least one enmy using the DMR.
How to fix the DMR: There are many differnt ways to balance the DMR, but I still think a fire rate nerf is the best way to go. I’m thinking it should shoot slower than the fire-again rate of the BR, but the same, or slightly faster than the fire rate of the zoomed lightrifle. The reasoning behind this is that it would make it less effective at closer ranges against the other weapons due to the slower fire rate. The reason I said, the fire rate being as fast as the zoomed lightrifle as a possibility is because of the massive amount of range it makes up for the slow fire rate.
The only problem I can think of is the slower fire rate, enabling players to have more time to line up their shots. I could be wrong though.
What is your solution for this?
The Boltshot Another weapon that easily ruins the balance of the game. Even though it’s meant to be a close range side-arm, which it is, it’s still overpowered. It works at it’s intended range, but the fact that it works like a Power Weapon is the issue. A sidearm shouldn’t be able to kill with one shot.
How to fix the Boltshot: I have a few ideas on how to fix it, but I can’t really think of anything that would make it too differnt from what was advertised. I mean you can’t go too far. It still needs the overcharge and regular shots. How is there a way of making it not overpowered with no 1sk and nothing too close to that, without making it useless?
I was thinking, maybe at point blank, one overcharge takes down an enemie’s sheilds and you can finish him off with a headshot or another overcharge, but that sounded a little bit like a close range Plasma Pistol but could still potentially be overpowered. So community, you’ll need to think of something for that.
BTB and Almost Useless Vehicles: Now you all have begun to notice how almost no one uses the Warthogs and many other vehicles anymore. That’s mainly because they’re pretty uselss at the moment because of a few things. One of the problems being the DMR, which I don’t even need to get into explaining why. But let me list the two main issues.
Plasma Grenades and the Plasma Pistol: The plasma grandes aren’t only a problem in BTB. Almost all playlists, players just constantly stick people as they are about to die, which is utterly skill-less.
But as for BTB, that’s not the issue with the stickies. The main issue, is that players just use the overcharged Plasma Pistol, to disable vehicles, such as the warthog, and then spam sticky grandes killing anyone inside of it without any sort of issue. This also applies to most vehicles. I’m not saying that the Plasma Pistol, nor Plasma Grenades are OP, it’s just…let me explain.
How to fix both of them: I really think that players in general, should only be able to spawn with ONE grenade instead of two, unless the players are using the “Grenedier” package. I mean, I really think it’s only fair this way. The Plasma Grenades have no blas radius, but still usually takes one per kill. The Frags have a blast radius and easily weaken enemies. This will also help prevent vehicles form dying so quickly, seeing how players won’t have as many grandes to stick vehicles with. That won’t fix the issue but it will no doubt help.
Now as for the Plasma Pistol, I think the duration of the time duration of the EMP effect on vehicles should be shorter.
Based off the Warthog, it’s stunned for 3 seconds when hit by an EMP Blast. That may not seem like alot, but in game time it is.
I’m thinking it should be reduced to either 2.5 Seconds, or even 2 seconds. When using the “Wheelman” Package, I think it should be reduced to 1.5 seconds, or 1 second so there is actualy some use of that specific perk.
Things like this need to be tested. It might (somehow) make vehicles OP, which is why it should be tested. What do you think about this fix?
Conclusion:
These are my main issues with the game and I think they should be fixed. But seeing how an update is being worked on, I doubt any of these ideas will be considered. I really want to enjoy this game, but the current state it’s in is unbearable. Obviously there more problems than what I lsited, but these are just the main elements that are ruining the expierience for me.
It’s funny though, I thought it was the stuff copied and pasted from CoD that would ruin this game, even though it’s slightly part of the problem, it isn’t the main issue.
I really think this multiplayer would be great if most of these problems were fixed.
