This might be my favorite Halo. I know everyone is going to say then you haven’t played any of the other games. I’ve played them all, many many times. But this campaign unlike any other, made me feel for every single person you interact with, including those we couldn’t speak to. I’ve listened to every audio log, banished and UNSC. The story that is woven is absolutely incredible, they were able to write a story that did not retcon 4 and 5 but built apon it in an incredible way. They left the story in an amazing place where many things could happen and from what we know there will be campaign dlc. Weapon had me constantly laughing and feeling like I was back with Cortana, Echo-216 made me feel for the marines and civilians that were around me, and the Spartans you come across made you recognize that even Spartan IV’s don’t go down quietly. I see a lot of people saying that they didn’t like the lack of cutscenes, or that there were no large-scale battles, but I feel like this story was about surviving, and getting back on our feet, much like 343 was trying to do after 4 and 5. This feels like a halo game, a great halo game. One I have already finished and was excited to play again, and when Co-op finally comes out, to play a few more times. I feel as though this game, was a culmination of all of 343’s efforts to apologize to our community and reach across the aisle with open arms asking where we want this ride to go. For me, they delivered on ever promise I can think of. I love this game and can’t wait for more of it to release.
