In this cutscene we see the Master Chief only carrying a Assault Rifle, but after the cutscene is over and it switches to gameplay Chief is suddenly carrying a Battle Rifle?
Did I completely miss the Battle Rifle or did 343 completely space over that detail?

Oh, wait, I see what you mean. Yeah, I always thought it looked like there was a part of the mission there. He starts on top of a cliff and then is suddenly in a jungle. I think this was just the way the trailer was cut.
> Maybe there’s an entire mission in between? Cause I sort of feel like they showed us gameplay from the second or third mission. MAYBE.
That’s what I felt. We don’t even see how he got off the UNSC ‘Forward Unto Dawn’. There’s most definitely missions before, after and in and between what we’ve seen.

There is a large time gap between the cutscene and the gameplay. Cortana said, in the cutscene, that the Infinity would crash about 70-some kilometers away, when Chief is right next to it during the gameplay.
I was wondering the same thing. In the GI article, they talked about the first mission where you wake up, are greeted by Cortana, and grapple with a Sangheili. This is almost certainly the second mission (mimicking the closed in first level and wide open second level of the original Halo:CE and many of the other Halo games.

Op, I do agree its a bit weird, but when clips like that are thrown together, it has always served me well to think of them as a segmented montage rather than a film or video from start to finish. I concur with this reasoning right now.
