… now I get it, this is the first game made by the studio 343i, however these people are hardly new to the scene.
Here is my little football metaphor, although its flawed it still makes a point.
343 is made up by ex developers of other companies. Someone with no job experience cannot jump on board with an AAA game. Ever look at the job listings for AAA games? Most require 10 plus years of experience. This studio is considered Microsoft’s dream team. Look up articles from 2 years ago if you dont believe me.
Now with that said lets say everyone on the Falcons left but a few, Tony Gonzalez and Julio Jones. Falcons have alot of money, they have performed very well recent years and want to continue that trend. So they buy Tom Brady, Adrian Foster, Ray Lewis, Calvin Johnson, and a few others.
While they have a few left over people, most of the team is new. This new team performs very well, but they are new! How could this be? Well they have experienced players thats why. This people are not new, but the team is. Would you be surprised if a team had Tom Brady, Johnson, Lewis, Foster, and so on? No of course not.
Now I do realize making other games and then making a new one is not hte same thing as being traded to a new team. No duh. But the point is 343 is not just a bunch of kids who just got their BS in I.T. They are experienced. They know what they are doing. Its not very fair to argue that Halo 4 is really just meh, but since its 343’s first game its amazing.
Let the flame begin.
