I am now unable to have “DAVE” as my service tag?
I have now switched to “DAVO” which isn’t as good as Dave.
This might not seem a big deal, but in Multiplayer, as well as customs, people would shout out my name over the mic if I was in trouble, if they wanted something, or if they were in trouble.
This is now gone. I don’t really like the name “DAVO” it doesn’t sound as good as Dave. The whole experience has now been changed. My name has been changed.
Just wondering if you could change it back? After all, the name Dave is in no way offensive.
You also did promise you wouldn’t change Reaches multiplayer, so I’m pulling out that card!

but seriously I wonder how on earth that happened !?!? seems like a pretty random one to be blocked, especially if it was just recently
The filter is actually managed by Microsoft and applied to all user-created content. It’s not specific to Reach, although it is most problematic in Reach.
In any case, I can understand your frustration. A lot of people have been having issues with the filter suddenly being stricter. I don’t know if it’s a glitch or just (more) incompetence from the guys managing the filter.
Sound a bit like glaive…and you could take someone’s arm off with one of those. The dangers are obvious.

I’ve been taking a break from XBL to pursue other interests. I’m hoping that Reach’s TU will be enough to bring me back.
Anyway, I don’t think they will lighten up. The words “basic”, “mystery”, “glitch”, and “puzzle” – all obviously innocent – have been blocked for several months. (“Glitch” started being blocked during the Reach Beta, in fact.) I don’t know who manages the filter, but they’re clearly braindead.

This is the first thing I have complained about. In my entire time on the forums I have only made 2 threads complaining. This one, and the one over at Bungie about the same thing.

sucks yes…should it be fixed, probably…but is it a real issue? no. its just a name tag
