This is worth a look see

Remember when 343 said they learned from their experience with halo 4? Well this( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MC2lQ4ZUqFs )is what they meant. This comes from a post on neogaf from Frankie himself. What do you guys think of this and what is your reaction to it?

yeah they know they screwed up and they admitted it. they get big points from me on that.

i am very hopeful for halo 5 provided the empire (MS) doesnt get in their way.

I’m guessing you didn’t like the game. Fine I get it, but I wouldn’t say they screwed up. I liked halo 4 but I will admit it has some big problems.

I enjoy halo A LOT more after the weapon tuning. I feel they are heading towards the right direction.

Sprint
Flinch
AC
Jetpack
JiP
CSR
Stripped down forge custom games and theatre

All of these things and much much more would like to have a word with you

So they screwed a game up completely?

More like added new features that you didnt necessarily enjoy.

I dont think theyre perfect but I dont think they ruined the game :stuck_out_tongue:

He said he admits that there are some big problems.

Jp and ac were also in reach, but 343 did continue with them so there’s that. Sprint is bad I agree. Jip is not bad for me, I’m usually joining games that just start with a small score gap. Csr not being in game is the issue not csr itself. Forge is fine, if you are referring to the loss of precision editing, magnets replaced it, we also have forge island which is really good in my opinion. Custom games and theater were butchered, there is no denial there.

I agree they screwed up on a good amount of stuff, but I still have fun with the game, and its only getting better because 343 is listening and supporting their game.

If 343 learns anything from Halo 4, I hope it is that they should released a finished game that works properly.

The functionality of Halo 4 at launch was terrible and still to this day has problems.

Sprint is awesome, I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m pretty sure we can all say that walking around just got old.
Flinch is alright, but would be better if the effects were greater.
Active camo isn’t as bad as people try to make it sound. People act like it makes them invincible. Ridiculous.
Let people jet pack, it just makes them clay targets for me.
Join in progress? What? You don’t like it? I will NEVER go back to having the 2v8’s in previous halo games I DISPISED.
CSR? Just play the game please. I don’t know why people need some meaningless number to enjoy a game.
Custom options are decent, you have to be creative, like you had to be before. I’m an avid forger. Very avid.

And argue with him for not agreeing with your opinion? Please respect people for their preferences on a game…

You re not a competitive gamer, which is fine but it makes it hard for you to get we’re we are coming from. And it’s not a matter of being creative. There are less custom options in custom games. It’s a simple fact.

I guess I’m not competitive player because…?

I’m basing that off of your support of uncompetitive mechanics and your attitude towards ranking, a generally very competitive thing. Sorry if I misjudged.

Oh, goodie.

I’m just going to say this about the whole “mistakes” debate. It isn’t just what they added (so…innovative) that I don’t like. It’s just as much what they took away. I’ll leave it that. If you don’t know what I’m talking about you are obviously too unfamiliar with the older Halos to be qualified to debate the topic of whether or not H4 is an improvement or failure compared to past Halos.

Totally agree. I stopped playing H4 June 6th because of all the Lag issues :

https://forums.halowaypoint.com/yaf_postsm2577126_RIP-BTB.aspx#post2577126

it simply isn’t playable or fun when 70% of your games are lagged by 0.5+ seconds. In Halo Reach (and 4 other multiplayer titles I play), only 5% of my games are lagged as badly as H4 is constantly. So it isn’t me, it isn’t my connection - it’s H4 that’s broken.

And 9+ months later, 343 has done nothing to address the above issues. Admitting they made mistakes is lip service - fixing them so the H4 is playable is what is needed.

If they won’t fix basic game play in H4, then I have zero faith that if mistakes are made for H5 they will address them in a timely manner either. And H5 means spending $620 ($500 for console + $60 XBL subscription + $60 for H5) based on a “promise” they will do better.

I don’t think it means a thing.

My purchase of a next generation console (Xbox One or PS4) is really going to hinder mostly on how well they do on Halo 5 entirely. I really want them to try and dial it back a little bit to how the first three Halo games played and felt. But in response to the video I agree that they did learn a lot from Halo 4 and I do hope they take that experience and apply it to Halo 5.

as long as they bring back silenced SMG’s and the option to be an elite, Ill forgive em…

also, from the looks of it, the arbiters going to make a return…

awww yeah
