This guy explains perfectly why this system needs to go. It’s not because it’s unbalanced, but because it cheapens the game. Enjoy.

This same person would complain if he had to buy DLC.

When are we getting this DLC?
All ive seen so far is forge maps and remixes.
It’s all true.
but it’s nothing we haven’t been saying on these forums for the last 2 months.

Did you watch the vid? He explains how the updates we’re getting aren’t extra DLC. It’s remixes and stuff that should have been there at launch.
Damn, all I hear is somebody crying about the damn game. The game is fine, reqs are fine, times change, things evolve, get used to it.

An iffy comparison. Time will tell. Keep in mind that it’s only been two months so far. Traditional DLC map packs containing three-four maps made from scratch in previous games take about four or so months to drop. We have yet to reach that point with Halo 5. And once we do reach that particular time frame it will be interesting to see how new content has been executed by then and if 343i continues to drop monthly updates after that which will be uncharted territory or leave people by the way side going forward. For now it’s still too early.

Incorrect. 343 owes you nothing more than what we were given in the beginning. All the other stuff added in the coming months are a bonus. You are entitled to nothing, they owe you nothing. The license agreement simply states that you are paying for the right to use this content and it can be removed and taken away from you at any time without your consent. It wasn’t there at launch, but it is DLC. Free downloadable content, how is it not DLC? It’s added content, that we download for free every month.

Clearly you didn’t watch it then, or missed the point entirely. He doesn’t cry about game mechanics, content quality, or the campaign, all he argues is that REQs are bad.
Also, if you think this game is fine, you’re out of your mind.

So you’re saying you’re happy to have spent $60 dollars on a barely finished game and then get skimped out on when they promise free DLC?
The guy does have a point but to sum it up
You go about getting REQs two ways:
- Playing the game, putting time in and in the end RNG gives you items to get an edge on your opponents.
- Paying for REQs up front and getting RNG for items to get an edge on your opponents.
For my personal expereince. I’ve played against sponsored pros. Mid way through the game they had Ultra Ghosts/Banshees/Tanks when they hit their REQ level. It was total chaos for my team and I. I for one only had plasma pistols and handful of useful REQs but was overpowered by vehicles and other weapons on the map. Skill was removed when taking a base when it was guarded by a ONI Mantis. Based on the levels it was clear all weapons and vehicles were paid for NOT earned like myself and my team. Sure we all start off the same but once level 4 REQs become unlocked I may have 6 Whiplashes vs 120 Norfangs someone else may be carrying.
In a sense you are saving time rather than actually playing the game to get all the goodies.

I mean it’s cool that you’re okay with getting the bare minimum and praising 343 for it, but many of us are not. This game launched with about half the content that a Halo game should have. Thats not really an opinion.

Omg lol “times change” and “things evolve” aren’t valid excuses for why bad systems are put in place. REQs suck. Theyre random and boring. H3, Reach, and even H4 did customization unlocks better.

Actually every halo 5 owner is entitled to new dlc. It was in the marketing of the game as a sales pitch to get you to buy the game. If they promise free “maps/dlc” before the game is released then they are obligated to do so, making us entitled to them. Btw I’m not complaining about the game. I love it best halo yet imo. Just saying your wrong in saying we aren’t entitled to something that was sold to us.
That dude hit the nail on the head…it’s about making the game fun for the community with a good replay value. After skulls, Intel, achievements, it’s nothing more than a grind.

Yep. Theres no incentive to go replay through the campaign or complete MP challenges anymore.

But that’s boring lol theres no sense in accomplishing or earning anything. It would be like if Bungie let you pay $9.99 for instant access to the Recon armor back in H3 or the armor from the Raids in Destiny.

343i explained that with the buying of Reqs you will not need to pay for future DLC. and you are all like “it’s stuff that was suppose to be in the game” well congrats thats every game now. literally. people felt ripped off since COD4 when they found all the DLC maps were already on the Discs and try telling Bioware who lied about content being on disc that they said wasnt there - YouTube
So even though this may be the same case, you won’t have to pay… unless you pay for req packs. i just dont like req packs because they have a million n 1 helmets n armor they make you unlock so it takes forever to finish so you can never get to the good stuff so you have to grind.

> So you’re saying you’re happy to have spent $60 dollars on a barely finished game and then get skimped out on when they promise free DLC?
How is it barely finished? We have campaign and we have multiplayer. Both that work. Both that run smoothly. We have 6 or so playlists in arena and 2 in warzone, and in regards to forge, we were warned plenty of times beforehand it would come post launch and yet knowing this we still bought the game. Let’s look at another game high in demand right now, Star Wars battlefront. 4 game modes, only one that is any good, and no campaign. It’s a finished game. Or vanilla Destiny. 8 missions, 1 raid, and 4 multiplayer modes(clash, control, rumble, salvage). It too was a finished game. I keep hearing Halo is an unfinished game yet the proof shows otherwise. You paid 60 bucks yes, but what is 60 bucks anymore? I pay 20 for a meal at a restaurant or a movie ticket, a drink, and popcorn. That’s for an hour or two of entertainment. 60 bucks has given us plenty for this game.
Edit: also just to add, the previous halo games had lots of playlists, but the matchmaking times suffered for it. The amount of time I waited for a game in halo 3 and reach while it didn’t take forever, did take a noticeable amount of time more then in halo 4 & 5. This has been stated by 343 multiple times, but the reason we have less playlists is because it slows down matchmaking times. The less playlists, the faster a game. How true that is I have no clue, but it would make sense I guess.

Again, the license agreement says anything offered with the game, including purchasable req packs that are held to the Microsoft user agreement as well, can be revoked or changed without you doing a darn thing about it. You can’t sue because it states that all content is not final, and by agreeing to the terms of service you understand that the game is not owned by you, and that you are only paying for the right to use said content and nothing more. That for any reason it can be changed or removed or the servers can be shut down without reason yadda yadda yadda. You should seriously read that stuff before you agree to them. You are not entitled to anything but what you already have, and still not even that. There’s a reason why games are all online all the time nowadays.
