This is why loadouts and perks dont matter that much

First and foremost, we don’t know what they are, how they are unlocked, so its impossible to say its “too much like Call of Duty” or “ruining the game”.

No matter what perks and load outs, it will not be like COD. Whatsoever. Why? Because Halo’s gameplay is not like COD whatsoever. BR/DMR straffing will be there, floaty jumps, warthogs/vehicles, power weapons pick ups, energy shields, melee beatdowns, assassinations, will all be there. All of which have virtually nothing to do with Call of Duty. An unlocking/perk system does not make a game like another game. For instance that Gotham Impostors Batman themed FPS. That has an unlock and perk system, does that make it Call of Duty? Absolutely not, it couldn’t be farther from Call of Duty.

I don’t think the perk system will make it drastically different from Halo Reach’s gameplay. By loadout, it does not mean that any game type, in any matchmaking hopper, you can just select ROCKETS or SNIPER to start with. It might mean you can customize whether you start with a BR and AR or BR and Pistol, or Pistol/AR, etc. It also means you might equip your armor ability in the matchmaking lobby, instead of as the game is starting.

The perk system will most likely be (in my opinion), slowly unlocking armor abilities and cosmetic stuff. I don’t think there is going to be significant gameplay changes as in someone will have a BR/DMR that is just way more powerful than yours.

I think it may be something along the lines of:
Unlock Sprint @ level 5, unlock Roll at level 10, unlock Jetpack at 20, unlock invis at 30 etc etc. And unlocking cosmetic pieces in between.

Which in my opinion, will drastically reduce noobish spamming of abilities, as they wont be instantly given to everyone.

In all, its going to be a HALO game, made by people know HALO really well. To say its “Modern Reach Warfare 2” is totally ignorant of everything gameplay wise that has absolutely nothing to do with Call of Duty. Its going to play like a Halo game, just looking at the brief gameplay should confirm that to anyone, looks like good ol’fashion Halo to me, BR included.

I really don’t think the load outs are going to give a drastically different experience then Halo, I think its just going to give people stuff to unlock to get the need to level in multiplayer instead of just giving you everything at once. Viewing it as “ripping off” Call of Duty is ridiculous, they are trying to add a new sense of longevity to multiplayer for people who don’t care about meaningless symbols next to their name.
